    The EVVA 4KS is a slider based lock and features 12 sliders by two sidebars.
    This particular lock binds first on the left sidebar and then right. As some sliders drop while picking, I have to check/set previous sliders again.
    Here are the specs to the pick that I used for the 3KS and the 4KS:
    imgur.com/e6r3MjQ
    The EVVA 3KS is classified as a black belt lock according to the beltranking on /r/lockpicking.
    Picking: 4:30
    Open: 9:16
    Afterthoughts: 11:28

    That was a fantastically detailed video my friend & one I found really interesting, I’ve picked the 3KS & thought it was a fantastic lock, & one I really enjoyed picking. My video on it is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
    It’s really interesting to hear about the differences between the two & how the picking compared.
    Great video thanks for sharing. 👍

      Thanks Daz! Really appreciate it :-) I thought the same and as I was still "configured" to picking the 3KS, I gave the 4KS a go directly afterwards. Was interesting, but I am curious somehow to know if those differences are just standard deviations or really because of a different model line. Looking forward to your video on Sunday! :-) Have a good day, mate!

    You didn't picked cause on every rotation you would have to pick it again .

    In your video you're able to pick the lock and turn it 90 degrees. To unlock you need 360 degrees. Can you pick it so it turns 360 degrees to fully open? Did you truly pick the lock by turning it only 90 degrees?

      Thank you very much, mate. I liked the 3KS and 4KS, although I am not a fan of sliders. But you can gut them pretty quick and easy, so they are super for progressive pinning and practicing individual sliders or configuration. Took me a while, longer than I would like to admit, to get the lock open. I think it is "only" a matter of time. Always impressed by those people who can pick them from the get go!

    Looks good. I ordered this cilinder today. Looking at the custom pick you use, it’s not a lock for the regular thief / burglar to open up. Hopefully then, lol. The key of this lock looks like something they would use at that bank in Harry Potter lol.

    Why did you cut the anti snap bridge bar? it's a torx plus.

  • @johnsmall3105
    @johnsmall3105 Před 2 lety

    On the manufacturer's web page it says the following about the pulling and snapping
    protection of this lock: "Hard metal control bars and its modular design (SY-MO) offer effective protection against pulling and snapping attempts." Do you know if this type of pulling and snapping protection is good enough to prevent pulling and snapping attempts?

    Wow!
    Did not know picking the 4KS was possible!
    Do you know of any lock which is almost unpickable or has not been picked to date?!
    I was about to install EVVA 4KS on my front door, but I m getting second thoughts after seeing this video...

    • @Varzah
      @Varzah Před 5 lety +12

      I wouldn't have security concerns using the 4KS for the front door just because a lock picking master is able to pick it. Burglars are not lock picking masters. They usually simply break doors or windows within seconds if they are weak. If they are not, they move on to your neighbor.
