People were leaving the USSR any way they could.
And people are coming to the US from the world over including illegally because its that good of a country despite the decline.

Comparing the two is intellectually dishonest. It just looks like populism.

MORALITY IS TO TEACH YOU, not to suffer and die, but TO ENJOY YOURSELF AND LIVE! Aristotelianism in 1-line.
America's Constitution was derived from Aristotelean doctrine herein summarized. A doctrine that used to be a major influence to all of Western (not Eastern) Christendom.
With the absence of Aristotelean influences, Easterners became more vulnerable to Communism. Likewise is the case for Orientals and all others.

Neither Niall Ferguson, Elan Journo nor Nikos Sotirakopoulos have a very good grasp on the geopolitical reality the globe is being marinated in, what its causes are, how we got here and how to fight our way out of it.

the ayn raynd guy is wrong because first of all he cant really see and judge his own culture since he is living in it, and technological advancement in itself is not enough to judge a culture

Ayn Rand is it a Carl Marx for new loonies. Famine was in USA when great depression and USSR paid for labors who travel to USSR. USSR make prosperity for people if we compare with Russian Empire or Federation. WHo was first in Space? who first build space station? Who have only middle class and no extra rich and any poor? Yes i know that libertarian said that only Atlants deserve better lifes not prols but Ayn Rand was anidemocratian woman and live las of her life by social help from government. Hard to hear it from greek guy.

ARI thinks commenting on this irrelevant article that nobody read is great journalism

C'mon, ARI. I've asked you twice, and you deleted my question twice. So, I'm asking my question again:
Where's your moral outrage over the disturbing news, recently reveal by Haaretz, that on Oct 7th the Israeli military - "the most moral army in the middle east" - authorized the "Hannibal Doctrine," the procedure directing the IDF to kill fellow Israelis in order to prevent their kidnapping by Hamas for use in hostage exchanges? According to reports, the IDF used tanks, artillery and attack helicopters on their own citizens. The IDF authorized the use of the Hannibal Directive in eight separate times and places that day. The number of Israelis killed due to the IDF's decision is likely very high.
And, yet, you are as quiet as church mouses in condemning Israel's deliberate killing of its own citizens, despite your frequent comments on the situation over there. Why it that?

    • @ryam4632
      @ryam4632 Před 2 měsíci +1

That procedure is immoral, but the story you've mentioned sounds like a bogus excuse to explain away palestinian atrocities. The IDF was caught in such a surprise, that no procedure was implemented as was planned that day. And if you're indeed trying to imply that the Israelis killed themselves, just look at the documentation, and see slaughtered people in their own homes and backyards, people being machine-guned in gopro cameras at the nova party. No tank bombs, no air rades, just cold blooded slaughter. You think you have a gotcha question, but your so deluded that you don't see your own folly.

One quick search reveals that this doctrine only applies to Israel military personnel.

Your use of the word "citizen" is dishonest in its breadth.

That is not even what the Hannibal doctrine means, or used to mean, since it was abrogated.
I take this like Operation Northwoods, which Alex Jones discussed. SHOCKING that some of the Machiavellian Joint Chiefs of the Armed Services once proposed the concept, but it was never carried out.
When I was marching for Palestine, I really was unaware how much of serious historical changes were rooted in ridiculous conspiracy theories.
People took medieval "blood libel" as fact too, and poisoning wells, and spreading the Black plague, before anyone understood germs, bacteria and viruses.
Now the LEFT has discovered the power of hateful over the top conspiracy theories, including about Trump.
