Mickey Spillane’s Miami (And More)

By Shoshana Milgram Ayn Rand admired Mickey Spillane as a writer and a crusader: “a brilliant literary talent” and a “moral absolutist.” Several of his novels, including the two-book series about Morgan the Raider (a pirate with an enigmatic past and mysterious motivations) were set partially or completely in Miami. @lennardchurch8483 Před 3 hodinami

      The modern democratic state of Israel never stole land, "Palestinian" or otherwise. They legally purchased the land they established Israel on, and the rest the acquired in defensive wars to establish defensible borders against the Islamist aggressors. Objectively, no state, country, or nation of "Palestine" ever existed. The Arabs who claim to be "Palestinian" are ethnically mostly Egyptian and Jordanian, and they have no significant connection to the land of Israel, historically, culturally, or ethnically.

  • @limonjuice8020

    I hear many Israeli's say thousands of years ago their was an ancient kingdom of Israel to justify their stay in that land by being in that land first. And a million years ago there was also bacteria living there. Perhaps that land belongs to the bacteria ? There is no need to justify Israelis stay except if they do stay there they need to create policies that would not cause more issues. So far all their policies have lead down the path of oppression against the Palestinians and cause all this. Right or wrong no longer matters as can be evidence by their contempt against International Courts. Only a dangerous totalitarian state would display such reckless disregard for everyone else's views except their own because only their own view matters of course. If Palestinians are in the way of Israeli interests then they like the ant mound will be demolished so Israel can pave the road to benefit themselves. See Gaza after the bombing for an example of the term demolished.

    • @lennardchurch8483
      @lennardchurch8483 Před hodinou

      That argument is fallacious. Having once owned land is not a legal basis for a claim to own the land again. However, that's not the basis for Israel's legal claim to their land. The Jews legally purchased the land they established the modern state of Israel on, and then the surrounding Arabs attacked them without legitimate provocation, and Israel responded by seizing land to establish defensible borders, which is objectively a legal acquisition of land under the international laws of war. The Jews' ancestral history with the land of Israel is their reason for wanting the land back, not the basis for their legal claim to it. Israel is a state of laws and law enforcement. The Arabs who accepted Israel's right to exist, and live peacefully alongside the Jews were able to attain Israeli citizenship, and they now enjoy full rights and privileges equal to the Jewish Israelis. They are not being oppressed. The Arabs who did not seek Israeli citizenship, choosing to instead support literal death-cults that continually seek to murder the Israelis, face legitimate legal restrictions on their freedoms to limit their ability to murder Israeli citizens. That's why the walls and travel restrictions are in place. You are unjustly slandering Israel when you call them a "dangerous totalitarian state" showing "reckless disregard for everyone else's views". Israel has made extensive efforts to make peace with their neighbors, including repeatedly offering to give away large amounts of land entirely for the Arabs to establish their own country on alongside Israel, but it's the so-called-"Palestinians" who rejected every offer, choosing violence over peace and prosperity.

    The current Palestinian population has nothing to do with the name Palestine. The current population of Palestine is of Kan'an or Levantine descent. They have occupied the land for thousands of years, long before the name of the area changed according to who ruled. Kingdoms rise and fall. The people remain, the Kan'an tribe and their descendants. So all residents of Palestine, Lebanon, Israel (the original ones, not Zionists from Europe), Syria, Jordan, are all natives. They have occupied the land for thousands of years.

    • @lennardchurch8483
      @lennardchurch8483 Před 23 hodinami

      The oldest recorded history of the region was the land of Canaan, various tribes of Greek origin who have nothing (ethnically, culturally, or historically) to do with the modern Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians", who are actually descended from the Ishmaelites who spent the last several thousand years intermarrying with other peoples to the south and east of their homeland in southern Jordan. 200 years ago, the total Arab population in what is now the modern state of Israel was roughly 10% of what it currently is. The rest are all Arabs who went into the land after that time in an attempt to prevent the re-establishment of Israel, or those born to the Arabs who went into the land in an attempt to prevent the re-establishment of Israel. The Jews are the only people who've had a continual presence in that land for over 3500 years, And while the majority of their population was exiled for millennia, that doesn't make them not the native population of the land.

    A section of Trump's Jan 6, 2021 speech: "The Republicans have to get tougher. You're not going to have a Republican Party if you don't get tougher. They want to play so straight. They want to play so, sir, yes, the United States. The Constitution doesn't allow me to send them back to the States. Well, I say, yes it does, because the Constitution says you have to protect our country and you have to protect our Constitution, and you can't vote on fraud. And fraud breaks up everything, doesn't it? When you catch somebody in a fraud, you're allowed to go by very different rules." I think the last sentence is the key. Nothing Trump said in that speech was rooted in the constitution, but rather the fear of a near apocalypse if he didn't win and his people allowed Biden to win. He had gone through the constitutional process and had exercised every legal measure, including practically breaking the law and using threats to try to strong arm DAs in Red States to basically change the electoral vote counts, but it didn't work, and it really wasn't until he knew things had gotten out of hand that he bowed out, but he broke tradition, by basically avoiding the inauguration: Trump isn't bound by what his predecessors did, processes or norms. The desire to force policy through the check and balances system that was designed to avoid or prevent a dictator is what they desire, just like in the times of Ancient Rome, Caesar crossed the Rubicon and violated Roman law in the name of defending the Republic. That's precisely what Trumpism is, and why nothing really sticks to him, because people don't vote or support him because of his beliefs, but his shamelessness is using power to benefit himself and those associated with him, even if it requires them breaking the law.

      Your assertion that "there is no right or wrong" is a blatant lie. Israel is not "causing pain" to the US or others. Israel was legally established on land legally purchased from the previous landowners, with the legal permission of the previous ruling power over the region, and they've never instigated a single military conflict with anyone in the entire 75 year existence of the modern state of Israel. All of the pain and suffering in the region is the consequence of the Arabs' constant rejection of Israel's right to exist, and the subsequent attempts to eradicate the Jewish people from the Jewish homeland. There is objectively a right and a wrong side to this argument, and denial of that puts you on the wrong side. As for what interest civilized Western powers have in the region, the Islamists only stop killing each-other when they're teaming up to kill Jews or Christians (or people they perceive to be "Christian"), so if Israel weren't there, those Islamists' attention would be on Europe and the United States, and there would be much more terrorism across the world. Israel is the front line, and their success is in the interest of the national security of each country in the civilized world. You don't even have to like Israel or the Jewish people to see how it's in each country's own best interest to support Israel.

    I tell ya, his Promise to Lock up Hillary Clinton was a Great sales close. That culture, literally inspired our current political Climate Change. I bet he wishes he actually locked her up at this point. 34 felonies later. Cause the populism of Bernie/Hillary, wasn't Just as Phenomenal. Remember the 'Bern'? It literally inspired a You're Fired, Syndicated Trump TV Show.

    you cannot exist at all outside of an organized state who provides safety . security and the conditions for the market to exist and flourished ... THEREFORE you have the obligation to contribute since you receive all the benefit to first exist and prosper .. you would not be able to do that in a isolated island without an organized society ... would you ????

      How about no. They lost the land as a consequence of trying to eradicate Israel, and they don't deserve to have it back, nor do they have any legal claim to it.
