- In Japanese mythology, the Kitsune is a legendary fox spirit also known as Yokai that has the ability to shapeshift. Because of their close association to the Shinto Kami Inari, people from Japan started venerating these magical creatures as they would do for a Kami. The Kitsune is often depicted as a fox with one or multiple tails, going from one to nine tails total. It's believed that a Kitsune gains a new tail every hundred year along their appearance, and their strength and wisdom. After a thousand of years, a kitsune is said to obtain its ninth tail, subsequently becoming a Tenko or a celestial fox known by the name of Kyubi no kitsune.
Like many aspect of Japanese culture, the myth of the kitsune is said to have originated in China, and has been relayed into Japanese culture through merchants who told tales of a nine tailed fox called Huli Jing, a fox spirit who would later be known as Kyubi no Kitsune in Japanese Folklore. According to Japanese folk tales, meeting a kitsune was not always pleasant, because they were also cunning and mischievous spirits. However, they were two main categories of foxes; the Zenko or benevolent spirits associated with Inari and the Yako or bad foxes.
The kitsune are also known to have had intermarried with humans and bore their children, even though in most of these stories the kitsune is often chased away after her identity has been revealed. Stories regarding the famous are very well present in Japanese culture, whether in the literature, religious, cuisine and even in the animation culture.

What beautiful mythology. A sick fox showed up in my yard a few months ago. I was able to save him with medicine. Recently he brought his family to our house who were also sick and I am helping them now too. I feel a deep connection to foxes after this special experience. It has taught me that even though the world can feel overwhelming around us, choosing kindness and good can change the life of others. They symbolize hope and resilience to me.
Ah rabies... the only thing I dislike about foxes, besides the piss.
@@-.-.---.--...--.-.......-..... they do pee on everything and the more they like something the more they pee on it lol. as much as i love them thats all i can think about whenever someone mentions wanting one as a pet
Currently writing a story about a kitsune, and this helps me so much! Thank you!!
Oh, I'd love to read that
Please make more videos. My children ends up watching them with me as well.
Started getting fixated on Mythologies and the Kitsunes really Intrigue me, Thanks!
it is amazing how i came across this video about Kitsune today just when i woke up remembering a vision of two Japanese women looking at me. I thought they were Chinese but now i know different because i asked them to please reveal to me who they are and why they made me aware of them. ..whenever they see fit. amazing.
I've had things like these happen before to me too. don't consider all this a fluke. they all have way bigger meanings than the things that you see in your daily lives
my advice to you is you always be away and trust your gut feeling. no matter if it's a benevolent, malevolent energy or something trying to deceive you to be something it's not, you'll know and if it is benevolent, don't pursue it just yet. make sure to make permanent contact with it and only pursue it when you're mentally and physically ready. you never know what's gonna be on the other side
When I was a Kid I used to dream of a Fox, a Owl, a Crane, and a Panther. They would visit me often to tell me when my friend who I often met in my dreams was coming to visit me. She would always have a Hawk and Owl with her and the Owl would always sit on my shoulder. Sometimes he would translate for her. One day she came on a Dolphin and told me she couldn't see me anymore because she was going to be born. The next day when I went to go look for her my Grandmother who died when I was four told me she sent her to play with me and that she was going to be born so I would have to look after myself. I remember waking up crying under my window wondering why I was out of my bed. I never had those dreams again.
They are Chinese lol. Japanese kitsune are from Chinese mythology.

Very good job this is my favorite creature of legend( any animal/ creature found in a anchent legend
Kitsune is translated as just "fox". Huli-Jing were seen as more malevolent than Kitsune.

Ever played Ćkami? Ćkami means wolf so Inari Ćkami quite literally means Fox Wolf
Actually it depends on the pronunciation and co text of the name. Okami is often used to say wolf or great deity. Kami is used to refer to a divine being and some spellings are used as ookami for wolf. The name of the game was based on a pun since okami can mean wolf or great deity. Inari okami is also called O-Nari and is not considered a fox wolf due to pronounciation and the meaning of kami which often puts an âOâ in front as a higher symbol of honor. Okami also can reference the dragon deity of snow, rain etc. hence the sekiro Okami explaining they are called Okami or Kira Okami and that seems to hold up in Japanese mythology as well

Hello! A few years ago I recall seeing a giant black and white fox with several tails and red spots in our back yard. I told my friend who was originally from Japan and she told me about the kitsune legends and how they can be dangerous. I never saw it again after that one appearance, however Iâm glad I got to see such a magical creature/being with my own eyes.
Is it true or u are just making nonsense wht i know is Kitsune made there human form Identifiable and they don't ever want to turn themselves into animal (Written In a book) But if u really saw the NINE TAILED FOX tho it's not possible Don't lie about them Kitsunes don't like it neither do I
@@armlink5288youâre a nine tailed fox arenât you
Lucky! Wish we could see them, too and/or in the physical, anyway, unless insufferable for them in the 3rd density, and have had two back to back dreams of one that was platinum and have a spirit picture of what looks like a smaller version of them? Two tails can be seen in the picture? Funny how this all happened after the stone split, huh?
@@armlink5288 Depends if they WANTED them to see them and/or as their spirit guide?
Telepathically ask for them and maybe ask, if in doubt, for archangel Michael to protect and/or ascend them further?

Animal's have spirit's but, God placed mankind over all the beasts in the field's so, understand who has the power, God knows that mankind have so much power on earth because, God declared this. Just saying.
It sounds similar to the succubi or other seductive women
