Hello guys, I also bought G4560 at first with a Gigabyte H110M(6th gen) which turned to be faulty.. after returning it +$$ trade for a B250M I saw CPU performance increase +25%% so for those who want to buy G4560 don't hesitate to also buy a 7th gen motherboard!!
You don't even know what you are talking about, I had already updated the BIOS else 6th gen would not work with 7th gen CPU.. It's the same thing like Microsoft "drops" support on 7th gen CPUs on Windows 7, newer hardware mixed with older doesn't guarantee performance mate. PC is running fluently on B250M. 7th gen CPU + 7th gen Mobo..
That could be because your motherboard could have just been faulty? Microsoft dropping support for 7th gen means it won't get support if you ask customer support, you can still run windows 7 on Kabylake. I run a G4560 with a H110 with no issues what so ever, I just updated the bios.
Misinformed once again, it means Operating System (W7 in the case) will NOT download (or even find) any updates at all if it runs 7th gen CPU, that's done in order to sell Windows 10 obviously. Nope, not faulty at all, tested with H110M + Z170, both came close results though none did achieve the performance B250M gave (have not tested with Z270 though). Anyway, drawbacks are really little so it was not worth keeping or returning the H110M when I could just give 15$+ and replace it. None of those chipsets overclock. Pros are M.2 SSD ports and more future-proof RAM expansions.. having 4 RAM slots versus 2 is always better
Well the B250 and H110 prices are really close so you should go for the B250, I already had a H110M so I didn't want to spend the extra money to get a B250. Also yea you were right on the windows thing.
I had to do it, its really easy. I did a bios update and it changed my boot drive to a USB so I had to change back the boot drive back in the bios, besides that it was super easy. Its for 100 series motherboards you need a bios update if you have one at the moment.
Man , that temperature is normal on a EVGA GTX 950 ?
