The current 2023 batches of Aventus will be regarded as rare batches 5 years from now .
I really enjoy the content, i think they reached the bottom somewhere in 2020 and are now improving again with different owner.
Thank you for warning me off the whole ‘adventure’ of collecting fragrances - at least to the point of looking at batch codes! 👊 I’m a collector of lots of very high end things (watches, guns, pocket knives, whiskeys, wines, etc) and I’ve started getting into fragrances lately. I’m the kind of person who falls to the bottom of rabbit holes very quickly so, clearly, I have a propensity for obsession. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the warning early on. I’m going to be smart this time and stop, before I start, to even get into things like batch codes.

I spend a few extra minutes before each golf round figuring out which tour putter and headcover combinations I want to use for the day, and which fragrance to spray on for the round. It was actually a friend that I have through fragcomm that noticed I collected putters, that introduced me to the Facebook golf enthusiast groups as well. Really enjoying your content. Love the mix of topics and videos. Definitely right up my alley.

I bought this fragrance right at the introduction in 2010. I was looking for a special fragrance, researched online and found this recommendation of a "brand new" niche scent. I went to the only store in town which sold it, one of the biggest shopping houses in europe. No one knew Aventus back then and barely did people knew about Creed.
I smelled the frangrance and fell in love. To this very day, I have never ever smelled a better thing like this first bottles of Aventus. It is really by far the most heavenly smell on earth.
I got compliments from left and right. In public office buildings in elevators, where never strangers start to talk, someone said "who is smelling so good" and a chatter about it started. On the street people stopped me: "Is this you, wow you smell so good!". Women, men, adults, older people. It was crazy. It was unbelievable.
I received so many compliments, one day in an office I worked the boss came over and asked us: "Who is smelling so good, the whole office smells so good!" I knew it was me, had only sprayed two times. I told him and in the middle of work he went to the store and came back with Creed Aventus.
Then the reformulations started: first, the Birch note was nearly completely vanished. By this time, many people started to buy this fragrance which was a real weapon. There is a reason people called it panty dropper. It really was. Why should there be so many people calling it like this if there never was something to it? It was. It just changed by the time the real masses adopted the fragrance.
It felt like Creed thought that this fragrance was too good to be on the market. At first I thought they will bring the real formula back for a higher price. Which would be ok, I would pay easily 1000$ on a bottle if it were the real formula. I thought they will do this, to outprice the masses and make it a niche again. But instead they just reformulated it so bad, that not only the smokiness was gone but later the lasting of the fragrance was dropped to half an hour. While it was days at the beginning.
If they ever will bring back the original frangrance, people who now don't understand the batch discussions, will understand.

I remember back in 2014 i first got my bottle and l always had people ask me what l wear, literally following me on the street. This is in Manhattan mind you, but the thing was a monster, smelled for hours, i would catch whiffs 15 hrs later off my skin. Legendary. By 17 it wasn’t even close anymore. I like cologne now better, and lasts longer

The problem is IFRA and not Creed (and this is true for many maisons). Today birch tar can no longer be used and synthetically (which would in any case go against Creed's policy) it is challenging to replicate it 1:1.
Creed makes "millesime" perfumes: there cannot be batches equal to the previous ones.
This is my first experience with your CZcams channel and I thoroughly enjoyed your story and listening to your relationship with Creed Aventus throughout the years. Fascinating and entertaining. Some good advice regarding the batches. Can give a man (or a woman) a headache focusing on it unnecessarily. Cheers and look forward to more fragrance content.

Interesting perspective on the whole Aventus craze. I had started wearing it around 2014 and it definitely has changed. However, I’m over it. Its still in my collection but I wear it maybe twice a year. The last bottle I purchased from them was in 2017. This video has sparked some interest in me to go try it at Niemans. Cool video overall.

I'm new to aventus and I think when it dries down it has a money smell. The scent is unique!
I have been wearing Aventus since 2014 and just recently woke up to the batch variations craze. I have a 17N01, 20L01, 22A11, and 22A01. My 17N01 is definitely different, more musky, but I do agree all of them are very very similar. To the average person they will not notice a difference when you are wearing it. It really takes a true perfume head to notice it. I agree it’s not worth it to obsess about batch variations. Also with the new batches I still get very solid performance for 6-7 hours with 5 sprays. I have worn it daily for almost 10 years and I will continue. It’s my most complimented fragrance ever

Pre 2014 is vastly different though. It became a different fragrance after 2013. I stopped wearing aventus because it’s not aventus anymore.
@@SteveJarek I want to follow up on this for everyone. After obtaining a 2011 and 2012 batch of Aventus. Batch 11S01 and 12E01 I will say that Aventus pre-2014 is DEFINITELY different. There is a smokey note, almost as charred birch note in the background that is not in any of the new batches. In 12E01 the smoke is so strong it smells a bit like a BBQ cookout with pineapple in the best way possible.
@@123NoscopeI agree with you man I just received a free sample from a member of the aventus lounge he sent me 17N01 and 12E01. I own 16k11, 17q11, 17w01, 17w11, 18b01, 18b11, 19u11 and the one that smelled vastly different was the 12E01 for sure it smells exactly how you described it. The others do have small differences though for example the 18 and 19 have this sweeter smell and 17w01 17w11 and 17N01 are a bit darker and 17q11 is pineapple 🍍 bomb and 16k11 is like roasted pineapple on wood with some vanilla 🪵 🍍 🍦

I’ve been hearing about Aventus for a few years now and I’ve been wanting to try it…but I just never got around to sampling it. I finally got a sample from Scent Split and absolutely just fell in love with it from the moment of that first initial spray. I just bought a 50ml bottle a couple of weeks ago and I have no regrets spending $365 for it…worth every penny in my opinion. I also let the wifey try a sample of Aventus for her and she loves it too, so I’ll be purchasing her a bottle as well. Great video man!

I swear I did NOT smell any pineapple in the opening the first handful of wears and also thought I might've bought a fake. With just a few weeks time, the opening changed on me. Very citrusy and prominent pineapple. I love it now.

I’ve been wearing aventus for a while now. Stopped by Neiman Marcus sometimes back and started chatting up with the creed salesperson about the whole batch variation’s. Naturally I asked her if the company was aware of those internet endless batch debates and she said that creed is aware of the “controversy”. She said because of the natural ingredients in Aventus, one should expect some minor variations. For example where the raw materials are planted and grown, the soil, natural climate or green houses could all alter to some degrees the level of freshness, smokiness etc. Made a lot of sense to me.

Hey- thanks and welcome. There are definitely variations- but I still enjoy the fragrance.
They use mostly aroma chemicals. They purposely make a variance so they can claim natural ingredients. It’s all marketing. You can research it, there’s nothing special in Aventus.
Also some of the raw materials are now banned in the Uk so older formulations were more powerful etc but they can’t make it like they used to but they still say it’s the same
I know people don't like to hear that. But it makes perfect sense to me that natural ingredients would be less consistent than synthetic ones. There are examples of this we're all familiar with. Like buying a batch of strawberries that were very good, sweet, and juicy. To find another batch brought to the same level of maturity, be sour and almost tasteless in comparison.
If Creed were to go the more synthetic route for sake of consistency. we'd definitely notice it. It may be more consistent, but the quality would take a huge hit. Don't get me wrong, it may smell very good, but it will lack that natural high-quality vibe that they've become known for. And we'd complain and threaten to never buy all the more.
Everyone is free to wear or buy whatever.
I was also loving this fragrance from many years ago but not because of the hype or popularity. The performance was never an issue with me either older/newer batches.
Same goes for la nuit de l'homme ysl. I have vintage version of 2009 and also 2022 batch and I still enjoy newer batch just as much. Still performs decent (not that bad as the majority is complaining already).

Totally interesting video! Appreciate the insight. On a side note, I bought samples of Aventus AND Aventus Cologne. My wife and I and a couple others really loved Aventus, so I bought a bottle. Tried the samples of the Aventus Cologne, and the FIRST DAY I got 4 unsolicited compliments. Still haven't gotten any unsolicited comments or compliments for the original Aventus, but who cares, my wife and I love it, and people this it smells great when I ask their opinion...but Aventus Cologne is getting constant unsolicited compliments...so I bought a bottle of that too! BOTH ARE GREAT! Will wear both, and it may be just a "people don't think the Aventus Cologne is worth it" type of thing, but they are both serious players in the fragrance world. I started looking at batch codes, and I appreciate this video helping to not go down that crazy trail! Thank you!
They are both great. I enjoy them both still, but in the summer I like the cologne due to its freshness. Stay tuned to the channel as we are doing a nice CREED contest.
Great video very informative and interesting to hear from someones perspective whos been buying since 2015. Aventus, Millesime Imperial, & Himalaya are my all time favorites. Would love to hear your take on Pineapple Musk by Montagne as I have found that to be the closest clone

I have my first bottle of Aventus & Aventus Cologne. Both are F batch. And enjoy them.
One thing I can say the dupes do not deliver the same experience too me. Quality and the way it’s blended.

Must agree with you" I've been wearing Creed Aventus since 2011 when I worked for Niemann Marcus and would get a great price for it. Lol. The only thing is that in my experience the more air introduced into the bottle and the longer it sits and most of the perfumer alcohol starts to evaporate all my Creed Aventus have gotten a bit darker on some and some a bit more tart and sweeter" also improved on some of the longevity also.

My 2015 h11 turn really dark yellow still smells great but color seems very weird

I really agree with you, the mental thoughts that its not the same as the original.. nothing will be like the original but the new ones will do the job as well.
Once you going into the thoughts and you want the same scent like the olders ones you wont enjoy the new ones and thats the problem.

I sprayed one spray of this new one on the back of my hand around 8pm and it was still on my hand I could still pick it up the next morning and after taking a shower

It's funny, back in 2k15 when I bought my Aventus, everyone was raging about the current batches calling them a shadow of the original. These batches are now regarded as vintage, holy grail batches. xD

That is funny. 15u11 was the scent that got me into serious fragrance collecting.
They put out fragrances too early. So give them time and store them in a wardrobe checking every 6 months.
2015 batches were indeed a shadow of the original. The 2011-2012 batches are unmatched.
What people does not understand is that, if you are worried about performance, batch codes, etc. because you want best value for your money, then you are not creeds target, their target is people who 400+ dollars mean nothing to them, they will just use the damn thing and buy another one and another one without thinking about it

Thats not how rich people operate. A person that has money is a person that knows its value and is looking to do good and fair buisness. A person that has money will never make a business with such lost, otherwise, he wouldnt be rich. The people you described are people who want to look rich in the eyes of others.

I read a hack for making Creed Aventus smell amazing. Wear it once. After a few sprays, then leave your Aventus alone for 4 months, then come back it to. Apparently people are claiming Creed Aventus smells incredible once it is matures. I will definitely have to try this hack to see if it works.

Yes, it is true..! I have 2 Aventus... 100 ml and 50 ml. The 50 ml is in my luggage for the holidays... Geus what..? The 50 ml i use twice a Year on hollydays. And realy its more mature..! Both are the same batch/Year code..!

the 2022 creed aventus was my first creed and im very happy with it since i paid a good discounter price of less then $300. I personally find it to be much higher in quality then Explorer to the point i wouldnt buy the clones. 100ml of Aventus will last me many many years so im sure something better will be out by the time I run out.

Ah ok. I don’t have a creed boutique where I live so I would be ordering it online. I guess I wouldn’t get the same exact then. Maybe I should just do a discounter then. Jo a shop or fragrance net. I just always wondered if they stored their fragrances properly and how long they have been sitting on the shelf. Don’t fragrances loss there top notes after time? I had that problem with Roja doves Vetiver. I bought it from a discounter and it was great for about 2 months, then it just turned into a smoke smelling fragrance. It was horrible

Spend 20ml and then put your bottle in dark wardrobe for 3 months after that spray it few times, shake it hard and put it back in wardrobe to macerate for 6 months.
Talk to me then about performance and smell.

Very new to niche fragrances i bought my first aventus metal cap to me nothing smells better

Got into it 11 years ago and have to say the batches around 2013 and 2016 have been the best yet, it was literally a completely different perfume back then. Lasted on my skin for +14h... now I get 6-9h which is not bad, but the smokiness in earlier versions was perfection and the vanilla dry down absolutely angelic.. last batch I got was from 21 and have to say that this one was ok. On the other hand the two before have been absolutely disgusting, one smelled like the lemon toilet stones in the opening and the other like nimm2 lemon drops which I absolutely hate, so I quickly sold them off. Also the quality of compliments has decreased a a lot, back then it was like "oh what is this, this smells amazing" and nowadays its more like "who used that strong shaving water..." I mean it still has a similar dna and also has a very high quality to it, but it is not the same perfume anymore. Its okay though, there is an entirely new market with exciting new and unique fragrances, Aventus had its time and indeed, it doesn't make sense stressing out over batches, especially when you just can get a smaller decant each year.

I recently got a new batch of creed Aventus and when I spray it on my skin I can only smell it for 2-3 hours tops and I thought it was just weak. I was on a date outside with a girl way after I couldn’t smell the scent anymore and she told me I smelled really good and that it was really strong and she could smell it even thought we were outside. So I really think the most of the performance complaints are people going nose blind to it. It doesn’t happen to me with a whole lot of other fragrances but there’s something in Aventus that shuts my nose off to it after 2-3 hours but it’s still projecting to everybody else
100% - it’s not as good as it once was, but it’s still good.

Whereas I accept the change of smell, what I can’t accept is the change in performance. For something that expensive it should last the same as it did when it was originally made.
Funny you say that- my wife made a similar comment this week to me. Performance is such a strange variable- for example person one says I get 6 hours and person two gets 12 hours.
@@modrngolf that I can understand but as a general rule do you not think performance has suffered as a result of reformulation? It cannot be coincidence surely if so many are saying the same thing. If you change something, unless you can find alternative ingredients more than likely there is a trade off from that.

Heres the thing alot of people forget for me bro i love groumound fragrances but man they do not preform on my skin but anytime i spray anything like aventus or a fruity fresh or a blue fragrance they preform so well on me so some people might not have skin for aventus and need to find their own scent that works with them aventus works with me i get crazy projection crazy sillage btw i have a 2023 bottle dont care about the batch number just my opinion.

I really have no idea about batches but what i know is that the projection difference between my 2016 and 2022 decant is so big its not even funny. I just cant justify paying more in msrp for the worse formulation. I just went on and got the Cologne as well

@modrngolf I took a 5 year break from Aventus, last batch being a 2018. My first new bottle was a f973 and I'm shocked at how good it is! A bit different, yes, but I'm actually questioning if I may just like it better now 😆. Very pleased with it.

Creed Aventus wearer here. My girlfriend loves it. I always get compliments from others. Yes, it’s expensive, but just wear it and enjoy it. IMHO.

Good afternoon.
I bought a 100 ml Creed Aventus men's toilet water.
However, after unpacking the product, I noticed obvious differences from previous versions:
1. The bottle weighs 400 g instead of 333 g.
2. The cap weighs 79 g instead of 24 g.
3. There is no large insert in the box-the history of the perfume house.
4. The letters Creed Aventus on the bottle should be painted black. The letters on my bottle are not painted.
5. The top of the lid should be golden. The cap on my bottle is black, heavy.
I thought it was a fake. I watched this video. Now I know that this is an original, new batch of perfume. Thanks for the video.

well,I can tell you one thing after nearly 2 months of wearing F000315 batch of aventus:it smells amazing way better than any clone out there( I haven't tried loewe essencia elixir just yet)but there's a problem:it behaves like an eau de cologne not an eau de parfum and it's just a shadow of it's former self.I know this because I owned 4 bottles (14CO1,15XO1.16MO1,18 something,and now this metal cap F000315)
I should’ve kept my 2016 batches. Lol
To me every aventus is great. Creed will always be creed. Clones will always be clones. Who cares about longevity when you have the real deal. Always feel great wearing creed. Always felt meh wearing clones.

Similar- but not as potent. Original is definitely a bit stronger and longer lasting.
I wear Aventus everyday. I’ve been getting deals on 3.3oz bottles but I’m in the market for another flacon. Sometimes those 17oz ones get listed for a great deal.

Yeah slot or it is all in there head. Creed is creed. Unless it went through bad temperature with heat other than that it’s oil and oils and heat can cause different outcome on the scent

@@BankstonT it’s great! Smells strong, I get bergamot, pineapple, black currant opening with a Smokey birch, oak moss and ambergris dry down. I get about 6 hours. I was wearing it last night at a venue and the bartender said she could definitely smell it long after I couldn’t smell it at all. It’s a win. CDNM EDT is too sharp and people say it stings their nose. Aventus is what you want because it’s not too much for people so you will get compliments instead of turned up noses.
Can anyone correct me on the Creed Aventus smell?
I live in Las Vegas, and when I go to a casino everyone is smoking. So when I walk out I have a cigarette smoke clinging to my clothes and skin.
And that's all I get; bergamot, cigarette smoke, wet moss, musk, and a clean scent (flowers).
I did not like it one bit; casino cigarette smoke.

Vintage ones, yes, without any interference from the environment. Meaning, it does have a smoke note but those were the 2010-2013 batches. If you have a batch later than that then the cigarette that you smell is, well, cigarette.

I’m 100% done with Aventus my last bottle is so weak it’s horrible. When I say 5 mins longevity that’s pushing it.
From here on out, I will wear Explorer no it’s not exactly the same but it has the same DNA and it lasts a lot longer and cheaper. To me I find the Aventus cologne smells like a synthetic version of Aventus search, Blackrock took over and some of the ingredients got banned it’s just not what it once was I also have GIT which is much better, but still not what it was a few years ago

There are some great discounters around- but buying from Creed is an experience that most really enjoy. I buy most of mine through the NY boutique; but they are all great. Please let me know what you end up doing. Thanks!

I got a 90s version of Silver Mountain Water. The inci is just :water, frafrance and alcohol.
There is ambergris in the original formula and real tonkin musk. The current one is a joke.

I've tried 5 different batches, the variations are so miniscule it is ridiculous. That being said, not one of the clones get even close to the original - I dont care what anyone says, people just like to bash Creed.

At this point, Creed has been so inconsistent with their reformulation of Aventus, that they should consider switching Alexander the Great from their bottles with Napoleon, just saying 🤷

I didn’t cared or thought about the batch issues but all I know, my very first bottle of Aventus blew me away ! Not gonna lie, every time I smelled myself I’m like OMG ! Knew nothing about batch thing and bought the 2nd bottle, gave me headache within 30 mins. Bought from neiman marcus, thought my luck was bad. 3rd bottle same ! So artificial, synthetic strong ! Now I like the aventus cologne better

I bought aventus in 2021 and spent 480 bucks plus taxes. And I can safely say that it was a total RIP-OFF!!! I'm better off with CDNI EDP!!!

I have heard good things about Milestone---however I am not a huge fan of all the synthetic ingredients they use. I will have to get my nose on that one and see.....thanks for the comment!
