- (May 2024) The hotel itself was not much to write home about but the elevators here are nice. This is the first hotel I have stayed at where I had to ask for another room.

The REN Cen is actually 4 feet taller than the Peachtree Plaza
I love that custom voice and these are ROCKETS!
I feel like they had a better voice when they used keycards that insert into a slot rather than tapping on a sensor.

I have an idea: I think the Westin Peachtree elevators need to be modernized with OTIS Compass 360 destination dispatch to enhance passenger traffic efficiency AND to get to the floor FASTER because of HORRIBLE wait times.
Elevator service at this hotel was decent.
It's hard to tell if the message about using your keycard was done by the same voice actress that did the Otis voice.
It sounds almost the same but slightly different.

This is the hotel where I first go to know about keycarded elevators, from my first stay in 2015!

This is much better than the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta because the guest elevators there are smart keycarded.
They also seem to have better elevator service here.

I was here last month, but unfortunately didn’t get to ride these, there are a lot more elevators in this complex

No joke! I actually live in the area. (Suburban) I love the Renaissance Center and everything Detroit Michigan. Including Mackinac island. Which I never been to. There is a really cool restaurant that spins really slow. You should check it out!

If you ever get the chance, definitely check out Mackinac Island. I’m also from Michigan (Oakland County to be exact) and Mackinac Island is one of the busiest tourists areas in the state. So many fun things to do up there.

Because I heard the Otis Gen 2 nudge mode voice recently at another hotel I stayed in and made me thought about this.

Out of curiosity, is this building almost identical to the Westin Peachtree Plaza on the inside? From what I remember this building never had the water feature in the lobby so I'm wondering if they differ in any other ways.
Always thought it was funny that Detroit and Atlanta have almost identical major skyscrapers. Not unheard of for mid-rise buildings, but I can't think of any others this tall that are clones of one another.
The hotel appears to be a carbon copy.

Why did you not plan to Detroit during the decades, you should have.
So the similarities this has with the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta is that both are Marriotts, skyscrapers, Otis elevators, and Starbucks.
I saw that you went to Detroit in 2010, but why not this hotel then?
My friends also always had good stays here.

It is very similar to the Westin in Atlanta. Built by same architect. My old visits there were pass through with my old job. No time to stop. I stayed here when I went to see Hudson’s elevator. This property has seen better days.
I miss the touch fixtures but these sre still awesome.

So the first 2 stays and rhe last 2 stays here, the voice for the keycard reader in the elevators was different, they changed it during the year when the program got canceled when I did not go there

This hotel is similar to both hotels, the Westin is the sister but the Marriott Marquis is not, just have similarities.

Wow Ive never seen a 70 floor elevator use normal controls before normally for conveniance an elevator that high would use destination dispatch or a keypad selector system like what schindler sometimes does with their MRLs in other countries

I stayed there.
I stayed here in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019, was going to go in 2017, but the program got cancelled and was so upset, I stayed both in the Low Rise and High Rise 2 times, in 2015, I stayed on the 28th floor on the Low Rise, 2016, 45th floor on the High Rise, 2018, 49th floor on the High Rise again, then 2019, 25th floor on the Low Rise again, so Odd number years Low Rise and Even number years, High Rise!

Im going to avoid this car as if there is an unsafe gap in between the door, and the speed of the elevator opens it a bit. Also shakes around a bit too much.
