I as m on perscholas now
I also passed my CompTIA A+ test, but I only studied two weeks for each part. I took each exam exactly 1 day apart and passed. I don't recommend doing this unless you have the time to really, really study. I studied on average 8-10 hours daily. But I was determined to get my certification. I'm now working on my Network + . My recommendation is study hard and use any and every resource you can get your hands on. Also, they types of study techniques you use also play a big role in your being prepared for the test. Use metacognition in helping you recall the information you study. Recall is the key idea here. Don't fall into the trap of familiarity, where you think you know something just because you looked over your notes ......test yourself daily.

Just what i needed to hear đ. Thank u
Dude ! I literally did the same google course and im doing my A+ exams in december! So dope to see a black voice talking about this! Thank you !
Reason I clicked on it, I'm on the same journey, good luck
@@ThatsJustEric There's a lot of people of color making these videos and passing these tests. Bruh your comment seems to be alluding to the opinion that it doesn't happen often. He's more then his skin tone. He's a smart individual that put in work. âđŸ
@@Snk13_ty Wow, you read all that from my comment of showing love lol.... ok then... Good luck to EVERYONE on their journey... jesus christ

I passed 1001 last week..planning on taking the 1002 this halloween. Super excited to complete it and finally find a career!
Passed the 1002 just now! Couldn't wait until Halloween! :D
Did you have a background in tech before taking the exam?
I don't have any professional experience in IT or anything like that but I have had much personal experience with building PCs and troubleshooting. Which definitely helped me in passing
Was there any Performance Based Questions on the 1001 exam?
@@jyzon4him I had several of them. Make sure you know how to how to fix APIPA addresses, Setting up a SOHO router, 2.4ghz vs 5ghz frequencies, Setting up email on a mobile device, and cabling types.
@@yuiyui2947 good information. Thanks
As a soon to be Per Scholas alumni from the Bronx location as well I love to see the content and success the program has brought you. Keep the content up king đȘđœ
I'm an A/V engineer about to take the A+ cert as well to break into IT. I was worried about the career switch but hearing you did it successfully gives me hope. Thank ya man!
what a great video!! You have really inspired me to think differently. I will implement FAST for the rest of my life. Thank you for making this video it was very well edited and put together. Keep up the good work.
Appreciate this đ its the honest real life talk. Trying to switch careers from automotive to IT and getting older seems IT is fun and interesting more so then ever
Im in the middle of going to college for IT and have to take the COMPTIA A+ exam next week. Nervous but after listening to you, I feel like I should not only take a different approach to studying for the exam but also dont feel as overwhelmed with having to study and test. I am coming from a HR background so this is a total career change up and you kinda boosted me up with these videos. Thank you!
Learning styles are quite important. Glad you mentioned that.

Loved the video and congrats on the pass my man. Iâve always been a Tech head, but never professionally been engaged in the industry directly. Currently training for a bucket load of courses and A+ is up there with them, so appreciated the humble advice đđ»
Anytime! Thank you for your feedback
yo man I just wanna say thanks for this video. I came across it in my feed one day, a few weeks ago, and it literally changed my life. I'm now learning with Per Scholas and on my way to an IT career and I never would've been able to reach out to per scholas at all if it wasn't for seeing this first. Thanks.
Woo! This is so exciting đ€© I hope you enjoy Per Scholas and get the most out of it! Which program are you in btw?

Very nice video, very inspiring!thank you bro.
I passed a couple of days ago! I had to search up a video and share the joy with someone đđȘđŒđ„
This is the perfect place!! CONGRATS đđđ It only goes up from here!
the idea of a tech career has appealed to me for a while but i've been afraid to dive in, as i'm getting older i'm realizing that i want to do more and be more. i failed the entrance exam twice and i became more disappointed than discouraged because i was so close. falling at the last hurdle only makes me want it more. i believe per scholas can help me get there and i will get there,
videos like this only motivate me. i've sat on the sidelines long enough, i'm getting in the game
How are things going? I'm in the middle of switching careers. I've always been pretty tech savvy, but don't have the piece of paper with my name on it. Just seeing how you're managing. Hope all is well. I'm having a hard time deciding on A+ or Network+ first......

Love this video because it shows that you can move from one career to another i.e. going from Audio to IT. Only thing I'll say is most people only rely on Messer for study material but there are plenty of more comprehensive resources such as "Darren's CompTIA A+ Study Guide".

Awesome to hear your story bro, I am an electrician right now and Iâm making the switch over to IT Cybersecurity. Congrats man
How did the transition go? Iâm a 3rd year electrician wanting to make the switch also. However I want to get my jcard beforehand to have a backup plan. But Iâm currently studying for both that as well as the A+. Did you end up making the career change, and if so how did it go? Looking to eventually become either a network engineer or security analyst
@@travisharrington5819 Iâm going to finish my degree in November man. Going well. I have my j card already but it was a good idea to get it an swap over. Iâd say get it and then jump over but keep it active.
@@resheeraj9181 thatâs awesome, did you go through wgu? You are getting that pretty quick, keep on the good work man.
@@travisharrington5819 itâs through CSU global man. Thank you brother. I got my credits from electrical school transferred over. You can probably do the same if youâre at IEC
Currently studying for my 1002, I've been in the field for 2 years now. It's wild because people normally do A+ then move on to Sec+ or Net+ and you would think those would be harder but all of the techs I've met are like the A+ is the hardest out of the 3. Good luck on your next cert!
My advice, find out what a career needs and target those specific certs, otherwise, you can waste a lot of time & resources obtaining the wrong ones. Having a string of same tier certs won't likely help someone's career.
@@artsXart I feel like no advice was ever asked for
That is literally the most retarded thing Iâve ever read.
Probably because the basics covers so much and networking and security are like specialized parts of IT. Once you get the basics down itâs all up from there. Like dude said just gotta know what you want to do. Iâm going for my A+ next month
@@quamashi damn bro who hurt you
Great video!
Splunk is a SIEM lol. Im in 11th grade and super excited to get into IT when going to college. Would love to pursue cyber security. Thanks for the video !
Haha good on you for knowing that! And what a great age to get started. I've got my sights on security as well, so stay in touch!
Wow! This is great
Thanks for the great advice! In preparing for the A+ 1001, do you need practical experience in a lab? If so, how would you obtain that? I didn't find any practice labs for the 1001, only for 1002. Would appreciate your help!
Study the objectives and know the material core 1 aka 1001 is just based on memory if you remember all the components and how they work should good and know port numbers and troubleshooting core 2 was a little easier I barely studied for it and passed with no it experience but definitely study objectives and donât be like me and study! Good luck to those who get A+ certified I can promise you after you get first certified or pass core 1 the exams get a lot easier and a lot less stressful and you will feel good
solid advice!
Great video man! How long did you study for take the test? Did you have an IT background?
Great story, congrats
That's what's up bro!... I learned to code then got a IT Support specialist job lol a little backwards. Im doing IT as day job, but code as an independent developer making digital products for marketplaces outside work... Black men in tech is beautiful... LETS GET IT!
We Love To See It! đ
Hey bro, good to see someone who looks like me doing so well đđŸ quick question, im about to start my degree in IT and networking but I would like to do the comptia a+ before I finish my degree, how long do you feel it will take to complete with no previous IT experience? Well I can use a computer you get what I mean just not to technical
Study hard watch youtube for tips, do research and youâll be fine.
Hey! đmy program took about 3 months, but we were also studying for the Google IT cert and doing career development simultaneously. Hunker down for a few weeks, study hard and you'll get it
HELL YES. He is inspiring me.
hey Geraldt is the question like this??
A user complains that his notebook display has started to go dim intermittently. You suspect the backlight might need to be replaced, but you want verify that the backlight is failing before you replace it.
Which of the following would be BEST to check before replacing the backlight?
Make sure the battery is still able to hold a charge.
Check the display inverter connections.
Make sure that the dimming isn't being caused by a power saving method that has been configured to conserve notebook power.
Check for cracks in the power bundles that go from the laptop to the display.
Make sure the power adapter cords are plugged in securely.
