Glass Artist Raven Skyriver makes GIANT glass Sea Turtle! AMAZING

- Raven Skyriver is an American Glass artist who focuses mainly on wildlife and the natural world in his expressive glass sculptures. He is known for pushing the limits of the glass medium in his ultra realistic pieces. He has mastered many coloring techniques through the use of frit, powdered glass and color bars to create ultra realistic skin tones and body markings. His hot sculpting skills are unbelievable as well.
Prior to the shooting of this video Raven came prepared with the turtle's shell, fins and head by pre-sculpting and cutting; using a diamond wheel, cutting through multiple layers of glass to create the pattern on the turtle's shell, and sandblasting the scales fins. Watch as raven uses many of the same coloring techniques to create the turtle's body, blow it into the shell and attach the fins and head. This is a dramatic process! Enjoy - Jak na to + styl
I didn’t realize the process involves this much coordination and team work. The final product is beautiful.
That may be the most amazing thing I've ever seen done in glass. These folks looked like an Olympic team. I think I held my breath for at least 4 of those minutes. Such amazing talent these folks have.
I love watching people who are not only good at what they do, but ENJOY doing it! What a breathtaking piece of art. I honestly didn't know it was possible for glass pieces to be this detailed!

You and many others were thinking the same thing.
@@SkypowerwithKarl You can either be reactive or proactive in these situations.
If you are reactive then it will take alot longer to resolve the issue than you anticipate. It always pays to do everything proactively in these kind of situations.
You also need to give them timelines you will take action not the other way around.
If they say it will take 5 business days to get back to you, you tell them if you do not recieve a response within that time you will be making a complaint to afca/ombudsman. Then do what you say. Otherwise they will walk all over you.

This was amazing to watch! The piece is so beautiful! The glass has multiple Dimensions to it! I've been fortunate to watch glass artists at work and it's so mesmerizing.

Absolutely incredible teamwork guys, probably one of the most amazing pieces I’ve seen made and to do that with blown glass and on that scale is mind blowing (pardon the pun)! Can’t imagine imagine the pressure of being the catcher is the space suit, all it needed was his glasses to fog up in there and he could have dropped it- the more I think about it, the more I think WOW!

The head of the turtle is really well done the detail is wonderful the texture and the colors are amazing work. I hope he survived the aneiling process and stayed together.

Speaking to me from only 3 months ago when I just saw a news story today about saving overly cold sea turtles in the Gulf of Mexico off the Texas coast because of the severe winter storm. 😲
@Robin Onggo their well protected in ecuador! At the time Lonely George was still alive and he was about 100+yrs old already. The habits had tonssss of baby turtles and they keep then secure till the age that a predator cant kill them unless irs a huge shark. The biggest ones roam the island freely. You can take photos of them since they basically are massive and roam the areas near the habits.

That was brilliant!!! They reminded me of a finely tuned crash team at A&E or ER depending on what part of the world you’re from. Everybody knew their place, timings and next steps, truly fascinating.
