I forgot to add that the first DS game i played (Dark souls 2) i died around... 587 times.
If it truly was Dark Souls in real life, D would have accidentally fallen off the third story balcony.

That dude with the hammer has really mastered the technique of being a video game enemy. Predictable pattern with one specific weak time.
At first I was actually intimidated for you when I saw the mysterious roguelike foe at the top of the stairs, brandishing his daggers and then vanishing. Again, when he did it the second time. Tension mounted. Then I saw it was Wren and I chuckled.

Wasn't a true Dark Souls LARP until then.
Its not complete without the parry into reposte spam and backstabs for days
the one with the skull mask was the most realistic. enemies don't parry in the game, they just do heavy swings barely being able to carry their swords and putting all of their weight into a swing.

Jan should nerf himself a bit for these games especially since he's an early game enemy. It makes it more watchable if the protagonist progresses farther. I felt the same way in Niko's round too.

Thank you guys so much for making another one. These sorts of videos where you guys basically do LARPing are so entertaining to watch. Usually LARP is really crappy in quality and nobody ever gets any good footage or content. What you're doing is a lot like Critical Role, bringing high quality production to a not quite as popular fantasy game, LARP that is.

It’s so fun seeing their imagination go. As a kid I always wanted to be doing stuff like this and even now as an adult. But it was fun just seeing D go to upgrade his sword and he’s talking to himself trying to decide whether he should go with the axe or the sword and just says to himself “The sword will be faster” and goes and acts like he’s depositing real souls in exchange for the sword. It was just a lot of fun seeing that.
Loved how serious it seemed Brandon was role-playing at 1:22 but after he dies you can see he was just checking his phone on the pool table.
You've got to get in close to the boss, his greatsword allows for high range but it will cripple his abiloty at close range.
At high pressure he couldn't think of moves he can do so properly.
Especially when that suprise attack came
you mistake Dark Souls for just any other game my friend, lol. Cant do that, you'll get rekt. Then again circle strafing is your friend.
That being said, the room is too small for a boss fight. LOL

When fighting an enemy with a longer reach than you you need to get in close and personal. That was D’s mistake

At the end when D said the reach was to much i immediately thought then get to a point closer where it is more awkward and hard for him to swing.
Yeah, I’d suggest luring him into a more narrow area, making it harder for him to swing, and therefore easier to get close to him.

The opening fight between niko and D like hasn’t been noticed, look at how well they both parry and attack and block 9:59
i'm convinced that D's playing the protagonist because he has the most graceful combat rolls
D's focus and effort make it better. Also the edition of the shortcut was a really nice touch
Perfectly replicated that feeling of dying and quickly killing enemies you've killed before to get to where you died very well.

Actually when entering the boss room the fog gate would have stopped that last enemy from passing sooo lol, so awesome you guys did this so fun to watch

@@ThexGamexDJ, could also be that due to Niko (and Sam) being the creator('s) of Corridor Digital, they get the advantage.. but I do agree that it's most likely due to time constraints. D could have had 3 lives, but we just didn't get to see his first life get taken.

In the house that would get him killed, you can only swing with a great sword not stab, and with the walls and the small hallways you would not be able to attack. so no the katana was a great choice but a short sword or spear would have been better

Never watched much of dark souls, but this was fantastic to see :) lovin it
I feel like this is just an overblown ad for calimacil lol.
I think D had the right idea near the beginning of the boss fight; going into a narrower section of the map to fight greatswords and other larger reach weapons limits their options a lot more.
D uses samurai techniques, for example raising his sword above his head to parry or deflect where he can then switch to a defensive or offensive

What about this for a parry mechanic: the ashen one puts their hand on a monster’s chest and makes them stumble and vulnerable to attack for 2 seconds.
