    You people at TeraFlex put out some of the best videos.
    With sprinkled in little bits of comedic statement and many helpful tips,
    very educational for people like me that are just getting into the Jeep world.
    I've had pickup trucks as long as I can remember. It was a necessity for work.
    I have always wanted a Jeep, but alas, money has to go where its gotta go.
    In the very near future I will become a new Jeep owner.
    I have been researching the vast "Jeep Information Universe". It is mind boggling.
    Coming back to your videos, watching and learning, I have the utmost confidence
    that I will be able to install a kit myself. I've installed three drop bracket kits on pickup trucks over the years, but Jeeps are different as they are not IFS.
    Quite a different animal.
    I plan to do a mild 2 to 3 inch lift with 33 to 35 inch tires. Nothing crazy, just to help take take the Jeep to a higher level of performance.
    ( Not to mention make it look bad-ass)
    Thanks for keeping it real.
    Jeff

    Despite not owning a JK (or even a newer jeep, a 99 XJ), or any teraflex products, I have to say you really do a great job with installation assistance videos. If I didn't fabricate my own parts and was in the position where I needed to buy a kit, teraflex would be the way to go. Just like JCR offroad, you go over everything and still kick in some humor. Way to go!

    Dennis, you're a character w/o question and I truly appreciate all the installation videos, as well as the comedy! One thing I noticed in this installation that I thought I would point out for other newbies like me, "the devils in the details". On the rear installation portion you pull the sway bar links from the outside of the sway bar but install the new ones on the inside of the sway bar. This will possibly cause an issue with the link hitting the axle and/or the bump stop puck depending on your pinion angle. On the CT/3 Alpine kit I installed, with the arms lengths at the documentation spec, the link definitely hits. Thanks again!

    Teraflex and Dennis .. I really appreciate the time you take to create these videos , your focus on details within the scope of of products in the videos is fantastic. I installed the metal cloak 3.5 inch lift with only upper control arms replaced on my 2008 jk Sahara, I'm currently building up a prorock unlimited Dana 44 front axle . Northridge 4x4 is my current supplier for my parts in my JK build , how ever they no longer supply metal cloak products , which is leaving me with a small delima of the rest of the build and pondering the idea of replacing the upper metal cloak control arms with a Tera flex and doing the rest of build with teraflex products because of availability through out the long term goals of my JK build. My question is with using my metal cloak 3.5 inch springs and teraflex components through out the rest of the build as far as compatability, or buying the teraflex 4 inch springs , basically starting from scratch .

    Hey Dennis, thank you guys so much for putting out such quality videos with detail. I am in the process of installing this very setup on my JK and have a question about the rear breather tube it appear to be rather short did you do anything special to add distance on the tube or is the factory length sufficient?

  • @NoWake200
    @NoWake200 Před 7 lety

    ***At the **19:50** mark you MUST remove the nut stop tab if you're installing the Sport 8 Flexarm kit using the factory hardware. The two forward nut stop tabs for the rear lowers WILL CUT INTO the flex arms and damage them.***
    One of the main reasons why I decided to with Teraflex was for the quality and ALL their informative videos. But unfortunately this minor detail was missed, and my rear lower flex arms were cut and damaged as a result.
    This was my first lift that I ever installed, and by myself. Their videos and instructions made the precess extremely straight forward for anyone who knowns their way about with tools and automotive parts.

    I don't know if anyone ever told you: why on earth do you mix metric and SAE bolts? Every bolt on a Jeep is metric these days and now you have to have SAE tools for the few bolts on the lift. Just use the same size bolt on the replacement components - most of it is made in China anyways and they don't have a problem with metric.

    why do you add spring spacers when putting a 3 inch lift on

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  Před 4 lety +1

      This was an older kit that used a 2.5" spring, and a .5" spacer to get it's 3" of lift. It has since been replaced with a 3" coil. But those .5" spacers are still great to use if needing to gain back a little lift due to heavier aftermarket accessories.

    • @digibath89
      @digibath89 Před 7 lety

      so when you lift your vehicle, you're messing w/the pinion angle of your shaft, w/in then sends vibrations to the rest of your jeep and can cause a bum ton of problems. I heard you can get away w/doing any sort of mods right away w/a JKU but not a JK cause of the shorter wheel base when it comes to 2.5 (maybe 3 inch as well) inch lifts

      Sure, but its a trade off. Drop brackets help correct geometry and work great on the road. They do however hang down and become a rock catcher offroad. Not a fan, but for those that stay on the highway they are no problem.

      At 3" you are at the borderline. Your actual lift height will vary with the weight of the vehicle and accessories. If you are compensating for lift loss due to spring compression, then you should be fine without. But if you get the full 3" of lift, then you will want to start considering at least front lowers and rear uppers for the JK. Give us a call anytime to discuss in more detail. 801-713-3314
