      Atlus knows quality, that collectors edition is probably going to be rare and expensive moving forward

      Yeah, this is definitely one of those games you'll regret not getting an extra copy of, to keep unopened. DEFINATELY a collectable, even the standard copy. This game will be a fondly beloved classic for decades to come. 10 years from now a sealed copy will probably go for 1000s. Been around long enough to tell which games do this. And this is one of those.....

      @@Ephesians-yn8ux it's made by Vanillaware (Odin Sphere, 13 Sentinels, etc) and published by Atlus/Sega. 😁

    Ogre Battle fans are currently too triggered by all the comments on the wide internet comparing the game to Fire Emblem instead.
    Glad it's good though, it's in my top 3 anticipated games for 2024.

    Been having an urge to find a good rpg to dig my teeth into and this may be the one. For those that have played, does the story keep you entrenched the whole way?

    Unfortunately, because I am physical copy nerd, and unwilling to play this in English, I have to import this... so I can't play on day one :(

      If you're unwilling to play this in English because of the translation stuff I think it's undeeded. Some things are indeed different between languages because you can't translate them 1 to 1 and It's probably true that the translation team worked with the original authors with the changes they made.
      If it's just because you'd prefer another base language to each their own, hope you have a good time and wish you luck that it arrives earlier rather than later.

      To each his own, I guess. But I think the localization to English is superior, and more reflective of the time period this is based on. That flowery way of speaking IS how they spoke in Medieval Europe, so it really helps with the vibe of the universe. Usually, Japan nail the dialogue better in games, but this time I think its the other way around.

      @@MidnightBlackandVictoria the dialogue overall seems quite simple, fitting for what seems to be, in tone, a love letter to classic fantasy games. The flowery language adds soooooo much flavor and makes it much easier to digest. I agree that the English localization may be superior this time.

    I played the demo yesterday it seems is not my type of game everything it’s just automatic gameplay it’s awful

    • @stussy8936
      @stussy8936 Před 3 měsíci

      Yup, this would be amazing if you controlled the fights.
      Edit
      An hour later and now i see the potential of this game. I think I might buy it if it's available on steam. I like their returns policy 😊

    • @buffalohelix
      @buffalohelix Před 3 měsíci +2

      It becomes less 'automatic' once you get some options and understand that you design how the units operate, so you are in complete control, you just bake those choices into the unit design before committing it to the fight

    • @Terranigma23
      @Terranigma23 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@stussy8936 you can "kind of" control them in advance by using the tactic feature (it's like the gambit system from Final Fantasy XII). Also because of that thr battles are not too long like Fire Emblem. Also I really like that it's in a real time and not just bland grid like Fire Emblem. You have too be quick and more strategic.

    • @inrptn
      @inrptn Před 3 měsíci +2

      1. It's not just purely automatic. 2. the style is directly influenced by Ogre battle. Love it
