    even with 2gb of ram the iPhone keeps everything open. shows how important optimization is.

    • @Halistermatify
      @Halistermatify Před 8 lety +38

      Not really about optimization, it's just about how the 2 different OS work and are built. iOS needs much less resources but is not even close to how complex Android is, and complex means a lot more possibilities but also more resources needed

    • @naderakbarzada4827
      @naderakbarzada4827 Před 8 lety +1

      +Halistermatify absolutely right, way more complex but a ton of possibilities in contrast to the apple devices

    • @KrishnaAdettiwar
      @KrishnaAdettiwar Před 8 lety +31

      +Halistermatify uhh yeeaahh definitely no. Just because android is more open does not make it more "complex" by ANY standard. iOS is way more complex actually with features like continuity and handoff and it's security and encryption standards, wifi randomization, kernel address space layout randomization, trusted boot, top-notch sand boxing, end-to-end encryption on basically everything built-in... I could go on. Not to mention it's phenomenal optimization. I'm a computer science major so I would know..and I can tell you iOS is DEFINITELY more complex than android. Again, more features with an open OS does not make Android more complex.

    • @KrishnaAdettiwar
      @KrishnaAdettiwar Před 8 lety +4

      +Halistermatify and just btw, I have an Android tablet and I've had an Android phone in the past. I actually love android (especially stock) but I'm just stating facts that it is not more complex hahah

    • @Halistermatify
      @Halistermatify Před 8 lety +4

      Krishna Adettiwar Android being open source can possibly do anything, iOS is not even close what you can do with android, and that's a fact. Maybe "complex" wasn't the best word, but you get the idea.

      well iPhone SE you have less pixels, so un sometimes it could be faster, same thing happened with iPhone 6 an iPod 6, sometimes render goes faster in iPod 6 because it has less pixels to power. Note IPhone 6 and iPod 6 has the same processor.

      @aRoamingDuck Před 8 lety +10

      It's because resolution is infact a huge cause for lower speeds. More so towards gaming; opening normal apps isn't as big of a deal. Have you ever tried playing a PC game on a 1920x1080 monitor then going to a 2560x1920? There is a huge difference in performance; no denying that. The truth is, and ask yourself, who seriously gives a shit if a device opens apps milliseconds faster. No one.
      So the question comes down to which phone has more compelling features. That's for you to decide and for you to keep to yourself as it's preference and opinion. No one cares about your honest opinion, this is the internet so get real here.
      Is it not tiring seeing all you iSheep and Fandroids arguing over shit no average person cares about? You all just sound like children butt hurt over the fact that someone likes an OS over your own

    • @Owen-bl7xn
      @Owen-bl7xn Před 8 lety +1

      +Succ resolution doesn't cause the speed , Have you watched Phonebuff new video Note 7 2K resolution vs 720p resolution? It's like second faster not huge difference . it's depending on storage speed

    • @rotten_banana7570
      @rotten_banana7570 Před 8 lety +1

      Owen - Chanel Storage speed doesn't affect performance. It's like comparing FPS speeds between HDD and an SSD. Storage speeds never affect performance. it relies on screen resolution, GPU power, and CPU power.

    Not getting into an argument about Apple iOS vs Android phones because, let's be honest, no one uses their phone this way. Benchmarks are an even worse demonstration of a phone's usability, but damn that silver looks nice on the S7 Edge.
    The iPhones were game changers for a long time, but they just haven't been really "WOW"ing me since I moved to the Galaxy Note series of devices. I jumped over to Android when the Note 2 made its debut because of that gorgeous screen! 3.5 inch screens just aren't very good for a person who does a lot of reading and web surfing on their phone. I've never looked back... until the "Plus" sized iPhones came around. I've enjoyed using both Android and iPhone. I had the original, the 3Gs, and the 4. I've had the Note 2, Note 3, and now Note 5. At this point, I can safely say they all work as intended, and run flawlessly for "real world" usage.

    1) regular apps open faster on the s7, and no one uses their phone in this beastly manner.
    2) I most definitely wouldn't mind being a second slower if I get a much better display, water and dust resistance and expandable storage in the same price point, maybe even cheaper considering you can buy micro sd for way cheaper than the 100$ storage upgrade price on the iPhone.

      You really don't seem to understand why the devices hardware is this way do you? First off. 4 cores are high/average performance cores, the other 4 are low power for background/idle use. Secondly, Android is written in Java; it requires more available threads due to the software layers that are required to run an OS on a native C chipset. Aka, Android is ran on a VM. That requires more processing power. It's just how things have been since Android was bought by Google.
      Not to mention how much more capable and heavy the Android OS (and TouchWiz) is in general. If you were to try and run full Android on an iPhone it would be pretty damn horrible.

    how do you define the speed of a phone? its not about how fast does it open apps its about how much time does it take to complete a task and in that case iphone is way slower than the S7. e.g. If you want to send someone a screenshot in Apple you will first take a screenshot then you will open gallery than select options then select share and then it will be sent. On the other hand the moment you take a screenshot it shows options below select share select the contact and BOOM

    I'm writing from my iPhone 4 which I love. It takes really decent photos and it's resolution is more than enough - if it didn't glitch at some point and slow down a bit, I would still use it for the next few years.
    From it's crisp IPS work of art display I can see that these days people condier an HD display "shit", 8 Mpx "not enough", 4-4,5" "useless", few year old design (even if great) "crappy",

      we have a big isheep here ! People are considering the HD screen "crap" because it is crap compared go other smartphones ( I can see the individual pixels of my iphone 5's screen so I just can imaginate that on the bigger iphone 6 is even worse ).Now the screen size,the screen is big enought on iphone 6/s BUT its fit in a too big body.Now the bigger crap on the iphone its the camera,it just don't worth the money.Seriously now, apple can have done a better camera in the iphone 6s ( Why f2.2 and that small pixels in 2016 ? ) I think that my iphone 5's camera is better in low light.Also do not forget the selfie camera.The one of the 6S its good but in SE its just miserable - I think its a reciclated one from iphone 5s or even 5 ! 1.2 MP and f2.4 ! Now the battery life I think its better on the newer iphones but I'm not sure,I think that its a curse that every iphone from 2g to 6s has poor battery.

    • @TommyAMV
      @TommyAMV Před 8 lety

      Gabriel Perianu That's exactly the point I'm trying to make - these things that you mentioned were praised not that long ago. People have become a bit spoiled, because now everything that isn't a 'flagship device' automatically becomes crap.
      That makes your iPhone 5S crap, my 4 shit and devices of 90% of the people in this comment section a bad joke, even though obviously, for instance, yours is perfectly usable, fine and really well performing.
      I agree that an HD screen is worse compared to FHD or QHD, but I would never call one 'bad' overall, because in the end everything comes to one - PPI. 200 PPI is a bit low if you want a sharp display, but it's perfectly usable. Around 300 PPI and above is awesome (every iPhone above 4 has 326 PPI, so the experience is the same everywhere - except Plus models). More than 400 PPI is unneeded in my opinion, because a lot of people have problems distinguishing a 300 PPI from an 400 PPI, and it is even harder with displays above 400 PPI. With me as an example - I can see the individual pixels on my iPhone 4 only when the phone is 5-10 centimeters from my face, which is really rare. That's why I think that not having at least FHD display isn't a deal breaker. I can also make a bet that at least 90% of people here can't distinguish one from another too, then what's the point of paying a premium for it?
      Size of the display is entirely subjective thing. I, for instance, prefer small ones (around 4"), don't mind using a bit bigger ones (around 4,5") and find 5" and above completely unusable (with exceptions, like when you use it as a businessman or prosumer, with multiple applications opened and used at once, maybe even in split screen). Now a lot of people call even these screens 'too small', even though somehow they didn't complain a year or two ago. That's why I don't really care about that point whenever anyone makes it.
      Everyone seems to care about this f2.2, but in the end, pretty much no one understands what it means. I'm almost certain that it didn't stop you in taking some really decent shots, because for sure it didn't hold me, even though it has 'only' 5Mpx. It's entirely based on whether the man using it is good.
      I can understand this selfie thing and why people don't like 1Mpx, even though I don't really care about it. That's why my opinion may not be objective, so let's skip that one.
      Battery life is entirely based on how much you use your phone. I usually need to charge my 4's battery every 2-3 days, but I know a lot of people that need to carry their power banks. Not many of my friends have newer iPhones, so I can't say much about it, but at least half of Android users that I know carry a small 2000mAh bank with them.
      And please, let's skip the 'iSheep' bullshit, it's so annoying. I've just said that a lot of the features that Android fangirls shout for aren't even needed.
      I know it's long, so TL;DR:
      - the screen is even more than 'good enough',
      - size is subjective opinion,
      - buying a better camera doesn't make a cameraman better,
      - I don't care about selfie thing, but I understand why people want it,
      - battery life depends heavily on how you use your phone,
      - cut the shit with that 'iSheep' thing, it pisses me off,
      - I don't intend to offend you, I'm just hoping for a nice and polite discussion.

      1) speed is just one factor. there are still many other reasons why android is better or why ios is better.
      2) simply opening a few apps is not a truly fair test speed. there are many factors such as the development and design of the app. a cross-platform test like that obviously gives ios an advantage. there's also things like finger speed and stuff like that.
      i still agree that the performance on samsungs are not as good as they look on paper but there are still so many other ways why they are good. i've recently changed from a 6S (not plus) to an S7 edge and i dont see much of a difference in speed at all. practically, 5 seconds won't make a difference and as i said before, there are some areas where samsungs are actually faster because of their advanced specs.

      +Linnyboy i'm an apple fan and switched from an iphone 6 plus to an S7 edge (after iphone 4, 4s, 5s, 6 plus) for 3 main reasons, better screen (amoled is just beautiful), better design, and smaller size despite the same screen size. The speed difference is negligible and in real world use you don't even notice. 10 sec diference in 15 apps, 0.66 sec per app, i'm very happy trading 0.66 sec for the amazing amoled screen and beautiful design.

    People need to realize that Flash read/write speed differences are far more important in App load and render times. Apple simply has faster flash read/write speed. A computer with i7 and HDD will always boot slower than a computer with i3 and SDD.

      @benjmiester Před 8 lety +2

      +Phanteus Woah, didn't think I'd ever come across somebody in one of these that actually knew what the real reason was for this. Everybody's too busy spouting this optimization nonsense as if code can somehow double the speed of the hardware it's running on or something lol. You nailed it though, it's all about read and write speed. In this instance, really just read speed.

    • @PhanteusZ

      Inner Ear Thing Yep I was quite surprised too. Everyone doesn't seem to know the truth. iPhone's NVMe flash interface is faster than UFS 2.0 on Galaxy but, Galaxy's UFS2.0 is faster than the emmc 5.1 on other Androids.
      I work with After Effects, and changing my HDD to an SSD cut my render time by half! In today's world, flash speed is what bottlenecks the processors.

    To all of the people claiming that resolutions matter for loading speed: Resolutions only affect frame rates of apps, not the loading speed(too insignificant). The speed of the flash makes a huge difference when it comes to load times. For example a game running in 1080p will have lower frame rates than on 720p due to more pixels needed to be pushed; given that they run on the same hardware. However, the loading times will be near identical, because they are reading the same files on the same disk which has nothing to do with resolution. If we bump up the read/write speed of the the disk, the load times will see significant improvements(try putting an ssd in an old PC with an HDD, it makes a huge difference in performance). Same in here, the iPhone thanks to NVMe storage, gives it a big boost in terms of read and write speeds; thus, it is so fast in loading the multi-gigabyte games. But, when it comes to small/lightweight apps, there is no significant difference.

      TheMoises1213 well, in real world use most people won't be playing 3 games at once and video edit things at the same along with a billion other apps. Sure having apps open through multitasking can be great, but it's not caught with technology yet. Having that much apps running on the background will just drain unnecessary battery. Having less apps open with longer the battery life. Until we have batteries that can last us for weeks, multitasking at this stage is inefficient. Though this was a nice test, it doesn't provide "real world usage".

    Wanna know one big reason why the iPhone is faster?
    It has NVMe-based flash storage, which actually makes quite a difference. Though software optimization also plays a role here. That said, I have actually used the Exynos S7 and from my experience, Samsung's optimization this time around is much improved over previous phones. It's really fast, fluid and snappy. It's not iOS-level optimization, but it's still pretty good. Couldn't say that for their devices before the S6.
    TBH, in the real-world, both of these phones are extremely fast. I'd have both if I'm rich, but I generally prefer Android as my phone's OS, so I'd pick the GS7e. That said, I have an iPad Pro 12.9 as my tablet, so I'm not leaving iOS behind. I love to use both because I think they have their own set of ups and downs and experiencing both is one of the best things I can do as a fan of tech.

      it just doesn't work smooth. Nexuses are smooth. A lot of middle-grade chinese phones are smooth (in fact, they sometimes feels smoother than nexuses). Samsung is still sh1t. I wonder how crappy previous samsung phones were, if you suppose current ones acceptable.

    • @NeXMaX
      @NeXMaX Před 8 lety

      ahbahpuh How bad were the older Samsung devices? They got really slow over time until it's almost unusable because it's so slow.
      The current ones are much improved, however. Still some room for improvement but it's miles better than the older ones.
