@@jesselawrence7343that is not true a lot of times dolphins will defend against the shark but sharks have been known to kill dolphins and I have seen this for sure. Shark can't necessarily kill an orca however I know for a fact they have killed dolphins

There are instances and recorded documentaries where sharks do tend to feed on dead carcasses even a great white when prey is scarce. Also sharks do behave differently some times and attack humans for no reason like in the movie. Check out the incident on Rodney Fox where the shark attacked him once and came back for more.

movies like this is why i only stay by the shore when at the ocean because i almost got swept out into the ocean one time.
It’s incredibly well shot. But come on…like I have to REALLY suspend my disbelief to watch this lil fairy tale. We see the ocean literally go completely red when she’s attacked. That’s literally impossible for a human to lose that much blood at one time. And secondly when we finally see the damage ITS LITERALLY A SCRATCH. I’ve had worse injuries playing wii tennis. Like COME ON. I thought at least both her legs were gone or something.
Her leg was ripped open on her top thigh it was pretty horrible she had to try clip the skin together with ear rings and then rip off her wet suit arm piece and use as a bandage 🤕.... Very nasty.

I know it’s Hollywood and movies are often unrealistic but no surfer would even go to the beach with it being that flat unless it was just to chill out past the breakers on our boards. We have apps now that report surf conditions so we don’t even have to go to the beach to survey the water. What would have made it more realistic is to have consistent surfable waves that she can swim out behind, you wait for sets behind the waves where it’s completely quiet, plus it would add to the validity of them not hearing her because on the beach the waves breaking is loud. I get they needed flat and consistent surf for filming but that’s just my 2 cents.
Read at the aquarium that people are more likely to die from a coconut falling on their heads from a palm tree than from a shark attack
This shark was literally on a killing spree,😢 after watching this movie over and over again i've come to the conclusion that anything that crossed his path would of losed their/or its life. Especially if that was a great white or a Tiger shark those generally dont like people and are very agressive towards them.

This movie reminds me Nan Hauser with the difference that Hauser actually got protected by a whale from a tiger shark.
So the shark kills the surfers instantly or almost and quite predatorily and clean, but she takes about 10 mins to even be acknowledged and even then escapes 2x attempts from the shark yeah right.
Why am I imagining if it was Mariah Carey at 4:55 she would have survived this with her vocals, everyone will listen to her scream and the movie ends within 10 minutes lol

This was actually a pretty good movie. However one thing movies like this like to put out there is that somehow sharks and other animals like that are willing to abandon a large amount of meat for a skinny little human.

I mean, if it were a real shark, I'd say that it was a curiosity bite. Strange thing splashing around in its feeding ground, kinda roughly shaped maybe like a seal if you squint, wonder if it's edible? Also, I read somewhere that sharks actually have a difficult time getting into a whale carcass unless it's already torn open or starting to rot and fall apart, because their mouths can't get a grip on the rubbery skin and get through to actually tear into it, since the whale's body is bigger around than their bite radius. Except for things like cookie-cutter sharks, which are made for suctioning onto a surface and extracting a chunk of it. So, a potential smaller prey item might have felt like a good choice to go after, rather than ineffectually nomming at a rubbery whale carcass until it was rotten enough that the skin would burst under pressure.
However, the shark's continued assault is a little weird and very much feels Hollywood, since they usually get put off by a human's lack of the things they want in a meal.
