I'm trying to teach myself how to play piano thanks for this.... I'm about to try this out...I think I would learn better using the numbers instead of the notes to remember how to play chords.. funny that's how I learned how to play trombone in highschool...if I knew the position which is a number 1 thru 7 depending on the type of T-bone you're playing I would play the note or find notes by ear as long as I could find the right position... when I became section leader that's how I taught my rookies to play if they couldn't read music...I even listened to college band T-bone sections on old cassette tapes listen to their solos and play them by by ear... hope I can use this approach to get to the intermediate level at least!!!
