hail of blades is anti mage tech. The idea is to start e level 1. An example would be when u vs syndra, if she tries to q you on wave, you can just e onto her and with HoB insta proc your passive for a massive chunk. This makes their laning phase very very difficult since you often can push this into an all in for an early kill or base.

@@Marcello513he’s right you take hail of blades against mages and electrocute vs assassins. you take it with this build to proc passive faster since you don’t have protobelt auto reset. clown
Protobelt may be weaker stat wise now but buying it on early tempo as a 2500g item or even behind stabilizes my damage well and makes my early game feel stronger. D2-M jg ekko. I don't mid tho so idk.

yeah, it seems like it's really good for jg Ekko. Run inspiration future's market it can act as a really good tempo item. You can pair it with ingenious hunter as well to lower cd of it and zhonyas/banshees or whatever else you're building and snowball hard. It really kinda sucks for mid though

Not great for mid ekko cuz the low AP makes it really hard to get solo kills off and dominate lane hard to really do much with it
