How to make KOREAN KIMCHI at home from scratch EASILY

  • Kimchi is a traditional Korean food which is made by fermenting Napa cabbage or any other kind of vegetables with lactic acid bacterias. It is usually served as a side dish with most of the meals in Korean culture.
    I used to buy them from the supermarket but was never satisfied with the taste cause in the Korean restaurants they always tasted amazingly delicious.
    So I learned HOW TO MAKE MY OWN KIMCHI AT HOME and in this video I’ll show you how you can make it very EASILY at home as well
    So you don’t have to buy the sad looking bland kimchi from the supermarket ever again.

    Ingredients you’ll need -
    For brining the cabbage -
    Napa Cabbage - about 1.8 to 2 kilo
    Coarse sea Salt - 100 Gms
    Ice cold water - enough to rinse the cabbage after brining process
    For making kimchi paste -
    GOCHUGARU (Korean Chilli flakes) - 250 gms
    Shrimp paste - 35 Gms
    Honey - 50 Gms
    Garlic - 50 Gms
    Ginger - 30 Gms
    Kombu leaf - 10 Gms
    Asian Pear - 350 Gms
    Fuji apple - 300 Gms
    Fish sauce - 70 ml
    Carrots - 250 Gms
    Daikon - 350 Gms
    Scallion - 11 springs
    Glue for binding all the ingredients -
    Sweet glutinous rice flour - 40 Gms
    Water - 400 ML
    And a big 5 litres mason jar to store the KIMCHI.

      Yes It could’ve exploded if I hadn’t opened the lid for a few times while it was fermenting.
