Lue I’m hearing a kinda grinding noise when when I turn my car on and off. What can it be?? My mechanic said could be the starter making the noise but I’m not sure. I have a dc sports CAI but it’s I think is more of a grinding/scraping noise instead of breathing noise.
It could be anything tbh, would need to deep dive it more to know what it is. Starter noise would be like a hissing or screeching noise when start up but that normal especially in a cold day.
Have you found the fix for the noise? All the videos I’ve watched point to the starter.
If it's a loud rattle that goes away after a couple seconds then it's the VTC gear on the intake camshaft. This is a very common issue on these K series engines.
