My mum was born in 1929 and died in 2011 at 82 years old. She was born in Queen Elizabeth’s generation and witness the Doodlebugs being sent over Britain’s skies as a 10 year old. Saying; You never knew when you came home from school, if you’re house was still standing, or turned into rubble. That’s how we lived back then!.. And when I was growing up, I would always run outside the house, when I could hear a fly past flying over our family home, on the Queens birthday, feeling a sense of patriotism and pride. The Union Jack is indeed an iconography masterpiece. We should all feel proud. 🇬🇧

You don't know what you're talking about. My father was a fireman in London during the war, Buckingham Palace was bombed nine times, with one bomb totally destroying the palace chapel in 1940 and the Royal family were resident at the time.
Both Houses of Parliament were bombed fourteen times, and during the London Blitz of May 1941 when the House of Commons and Westminster Hall were on fire, the firemen had an awful decision to make as they couldn't save both, so they saved the ancient and immensely historical Westminster Hall and the Commons was entirely destroyed by the fire.
St Paul's was set on fire 29 times by incendiaries. Civilian defense brigades, including the St. Paul’s Fire Watch, protected the structure from fire, and at one point an unexploded bomb was removed at great risk from the roof of the cathedral but it left the high altar in ruins.
People like you should check your facts before making stupid remarks, or preferably just keep quiet.

@@annaforrest6148 And here you are telling me, terrible them Germans aren't they... You know it was Britain who declared war on Germany, they never invaded here. Britain were the aggressors protecting the 'Versailles Treaty', Germany never intentionally bombed civilians UNLIKE the Allies, of Bolshevism, who carpet bombed Europe, and even drafted the 72 countries of the Empire to do it! My grandfather was a PT instructor in the Royal Marines and was sent to Germany afterwards for the clean up, which wasn't pretty. There's audios of Audi Murphy, an American war hero, describing the horrors the Germans suffered at the hands of the Bolsheviks, yet what had they done?
People like me stand for the truth, not part of propaganda by the Allies of Bolshevism. Your testimony is the first I've heard, and from what I can gather it's second hand. I've lived and worked in Germany and put two and two together so you don't get to tell me what to say or do.

THIS is why he remains a Loyalist. However, it's the very likes of him and his clans in 1700 when the Darien Scheme (Land grabbing in South America behind England's back) that FAILED miserably. His clan and others BANKRUPTED Scotland and this let to the Act of Union in about early 1700. Hence, the UNION JACK...So, forget all this 'woke' anti- British stuff. Belonging is key to a successful society and it is a lack of this (whilst searching for it on social media) that is destroying the mental health of our youngsters … and again, what they are learning, or not as in the case of British History, in schools fosters a shame about our great nation’s past.

As an Irish born Australian I love the Union Jack on Australia's flag. I love it in Britain. I voted for the monarchy in 1999 plebiscite. However, I don't like seeing it in the Irish Republic, unless it's outside the international hotels. BTW, as a child, I loved colouring in a union jack as part of a Cub's (junior scouts) project. My Irish Republican father wasn't happy, but apart from a few feck and eejit verbal bombs, and Jaysus, for fooking sakes, the bluedy gobshites, he left me to it. As my mother reminded him, it was his fecking idea to drag her and her eight children across the planet where the British flag was on the Australian flag and the queen's face on all the currency and stamps. He slunk away, defeated to sulk alone. Most of his mates were English anyway. He knew not to escalate the crap.
