Highlights of Bricky's playthrough of Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree video game
3:52
"huh, this marika statue looks different"
Yeah Bricky, I think its clear that its missing its fucking head
man i was clawing my way out of the brainrot just to hear my mans say "Skibidi"
What is "Skibidi" ?
@@RhysHill-ur8lqskibidi 🚽
It's not even "that" brain rotted though compared to what I think most people have seen 14 years ago. I mean are we fooling ourselves into thinking that all the other gmod animations spewed forth?
The GIANT ENEMY SPIDER part is pretty funny
That stat spread dealt psychic damage to me
It’s damn near a challenge run lol
"Miyazaki that was a bit of a dick move." Yeah get used to saying that buddy.
Every time this man says "skibidi blessing" part of me dies and dissapears into nothingness.
Yeah, this dlc still got hands
oh it got hands alright, and feet and everything in between
Because that “nerf” is basically just clickbait. They balanced out the blessings. Even with blessing level 20 you get 2 shot. It’s not a world changer
@@MMHGaming73yeah everyone acted like they touched bosses when it was literally just the blessing scaling. People saying that, go fight the final boss. I promise you they are exactly the same.
I love seeing all the "cutting room floor" material getting its time to shine. Theres no telling hiw many items, enemies, etc. are the passion projects of some team members that werent able to make it into the base game for whatever reason.
I do not use summons myself, but I despise when people call it ‘cheese’ as if it’s not intended play.
I love the idea of a Pokémon Master build where you do Spirit Ashes with a Faith character made to give buffs and heals.
I'm so happy someone else looks at them like Pokemon. Especially since in the arena we can fucking battle ash and puppets against eachother
@@crosscottonwood5984 sure but how does that make any ground on the issue?
@@crosscottonwood5984well I am definitely glad for your side of the internet because on most videos I go there are comments dismissing it as "skill issue" although this days those people get ganged on
I play it like "yeah I'm a lord here's my forces."
The only people I will only ever look down on in Elden Ring are the people who ACTUALLY cheese the game like using the Azur Beam to one shot bosses in their FIRST run of the game (which is usually their only run). Yeah it doesn't effect me and they can play how they want to play, but at that point just watch a playthrough of it on youtube. At least DLC has hands.
I enjoy how bricky found the first fog gate and went im not going in there that would be stupid and then went and engaged with the leveling mechanic and then didnt get 2 shot as a result. Meanwhile other people raged and whined that the game was too hard because they self imposed added difficulty on themselves and then were upset that it was harder.
"this felt like a well balanced fight"
TELL THAT TO SEEREAX AND AFRO
glad im not the only one who hates the FRICKEN ELECTRIC SHOCKWAVES
16:23 "not everything is a- ENEMY SPIDER"
honestly yeah no lie there
For those wondering about the patch, the first 10 were changed to make the dlc early game 'smoother' not necessarily easier but skibidi 20 was buffed
I see Bricky has discovered the tenets of True Elden Ring Wisdom:
1. Wear the heaviest armor you can without fat rolling.
2. Spam ashes of war.
3. Abuse status effects
4. Summon without remorse or shame
His path through the DLC will be greatly eased by this forbidden knowledge (until the final boss at least)
you do know that you get higher damage mitigation by talismans and the faith buffspells/consumables though? Not lying you can go in naked with consumable buff and talismans and take less damage than heavy armour. You are working off darksouls meta...don't elden ring math is different
@@Solus749 and you do realize that all of those things _stack with armor,_ right? Like... armor is good. There is no reason not to wear it, especially since they nerfed light rolling.
@@fable23 still more damage reduction than armour itself...also jumping ground based attacks ( shockwaves radagans holy aoes etc there are lots of them) and guard counter ( if shield used ) doing ALOT of poise damage have been a thing since the start of elden ring.
I can take that further, holy pots vs undead/shades/deathbirds, fire vs plantbased/hands/fleshy enemies ( tends to stun them ), lghtning ignore most of heavy armour defence AND stuns abducters. Throw a poison pot at those round poison plant things and they explode. That is before we get to various magic and throwing knives range pulling etc.
malenia gets stunned out of water fowl with frost pots.....soooo many way to do things without relaying on high vigor and armour ( unless mainly melee focus ofc)
@@Solus749 you said all of that, but you still didn't give a reason _not_ to wear armor. It's good. It reduces damage and gives poise. You should wear it :)
@@fable23 I am saying if you use more than just melee you don't need to depend on poise. Atop of that stopping the spike damage cold like malenias waterfowl that people gets recommended 60 vigor to survive.....you don't need that. I took out malenia with 43 vigor and a dex/faith builld. Didn't even for the usual great weapon jump attack spamm vs her. Claws with hoarfang step weapon art ( adds frost damage ) and frost pots to get her out of waterfowl was enough
I could use other means too, like a twinblade and poisebreak her that way. Even shield counter works ( shield counter does as much poise daamge as a great weapon heavy attack ). Night sorceries mess her up too just to give a few examples.
Bricky: "Is this guy a little slow?"
Chat: *acknowledges obvious neurodivergent coding*
Bricky: *Lectures chat on picking up on the same things he did*
I really appreciate the dbza edits that the editor throws in. It's a fun little Easter egg
Bricky, based opinion-haver, casually stomping on the first 2 remembrance bosses with low Blessing level and an "oops all stats" build is a great counterpoint to the "DLC too hard" complainers. And the "Don't demand other people play the game like you do" is for the "if you didn't 2-hand a greatsword and roll as your only defensive move, then you didn't play the game as Michael Zaki intended" crowd.
Also the change to Scadu blessing was like 2% more on the first 10 levels, it doesn't make too much of a difference.
I was like "Hmmm, maybe it's that he's running Scarlet Rot and poison" but then I watch him play and remember "Wait, He actually learns attack patterns and dodges them too".
And the majority of the damage he does is him actually engaging and playing to do damage vs just trying to kite and let the DoT wear them out like a lot of people would.
Nah I definitely noticed at least the damage difference between his playthrough and mine. I played day 1 with a str faith build with more vigor and more scad blessings than he had at that point and I got consistently 2 shot by dancing lion
Blessing on the first day were abolutely mandatory fighting beast claw logar with no blessing and he had upwards of 20,000 health
@@jonahshields1925 you too? :l
It's not a counterpoint for people not using summons lmao
Biggest threat the lion boss has is the camera.
Have you told Matara the Buzzing gives you the spine tingles?
Finallllly. I didn't have time to watch the streams so been looking forward to this
He uploads them on this channel you can watch em in chunks for the full playthrough.
The fact that Bricky didn't take a single death all the way up to the Lion is extremely impressive
AND THEN ONLY 3 DEATHS ON THE LION HUHHH
Its such an entertainment to see how different you can play ER in so many different ways and still succeed in your own way. Its such an "Make this adventure how you want it" game.
Man it’s just like Caelid in here…
If I hear another skibidi I am going to shit my jorts
Take a shot every time he says skibidi
Where is part 2? WHERE IS PART 2?!
Bricky really Skibidi Dipping
I will say, I both hate and love how the human enemies move like players, they punish R1 spams a lot with backsteps and repeated jump attacks, and the decision making when you're far or near, they're evolving.
I’m sorry, but just seeing the brim hat and armor…with the dome helmet…
Sontar-ha
Feel like Bricky is definitely going to be raging that that infamous penultimate fight. Don't get me wrong, he'll rage at the final boss too, but that fight right before... he gonna be mad.
A new challenger has appeared in the realm of shadows.
26:42 is my thought on half the fights in this dlc "Camera bad, fight good." (edit: Rellana doesn't count Rellana is just great.)
That's my thought on every soulsborne game tbh. like bloodborne is awesome sometimes the camera cares more about eldritch monster booty then where my character is at.
@@Extradecentskeleton Yeah my main gripe with elden ring is that this is extra annoying with increase in AoE bs bosses have. But yeah like Ludwig in BB DLC is cool but camera and AoE there is also some bs.
Bricky why are you lowkey really really good at this game
Anyone excited to see Bricky go to Belurat for one of their traditional New Years Day performances of the lion dance?
Two swords lady is dope as hell
Love the editing
Bricky you remember Pontiff Sulyvahn from DS3
It’s crazy how in this fightwith Rellana shes almost close to Pontiff in boss design
Better a poison tree spirit in a poison lake rather than the fucking scarlet rot version in the scarlet rot lakes. Those were so much worse.
I have to remember I went into the dlc at NG+4 so Bricky not getting dumpstered by everything makes me realize how much harder I made it for myself
Words cant explain how happy i am right now
I'm happy I fought rellana pre nerf helped my friend when he got the dlc later and the fight just didn't hit the same
Bricky where's Elden Ring DLC part 2?
DUDE!
You're pretty good.
Im more of a Leta or rellana man, but i understand freya
Moonrythil was my first and second death in the dlc, with Rellana being the third
Rellana was not that fun for me using a colossal sword but I can imagine it being more fun with a quicker weapon
You beat the lion kinda quick
Poison lake, you hack!
damn your forehead so oily is gonna burn with Messmers flame no problem.
I gotta say i know they buffed the first few dlc levels but after hearing many freak out about the difficulty its intresting to see Bricky casualy whiping the games ass and having an even easier time then i did lol.
i think you could have gone with less cuts. you even cut cutscenes
Wow, you match the color of your eyes with your hair and beard, cool.
ok...wtf this weapon is OP as fuck. Does so much damage!
Ah hell yeah!😊 I really wanna see how Bricky feels about this dlc.
Just explore and collect scadutree. If you explore everything you can get to lvl 20 naturally like me without guide but if you are not confident you will find all 50, mark the ones you found on map so that it's easy to figure out which ones you are missing. I defeated last boss after around 2hr which is so so much easier than Malenia when I first fought her. If you are wondering, I only used strength endurance double collosal hammer raptor of the mist jump attack build with enough faith to use every elemental def buffs. My def were 81% physical in first phase and 76% physical & 90% holy in phase 2. I think people have been too used to being op or are rusty after 2 years. Simply git gud genuinely to all those who were whining
Ok so let’s see the build….., OH MY GOODNESS yeah he’s screwed
Been waiting for this since BrickyOrchid8
Wait, there was a difficultly patch? Welp to replay the dlc again lol
I think a lot of people went into the dlc on NG+. Making it that much harder. I know I did hehe. I don't mind though
I feel like the only person not bothered by the ulcerated tree spirits. Honestly, it's kind of like an "oh, no! what is- oh, just a tree spirit", but I guess it's annoying to most people.
Miquella miquellested Mohg.
ah already watched the 3hr vod, looking forward to this - I cant beat the final boss
Keep at it you'll get him eventualy, just don't you dare go hollow my friend
Damn Rellana got nerfed hard
i think my thesis might be proven with the fact that bricky encountered no struggle with a 25 in everything build, everyone complaining was just really rusty and probably dumb and not using the skibidi blessings, i mean i was rusty as fuck and i got my ass handed to me but i picked myself up and got the groove on
37:01 you absolute monster, Bricky
Not in a good way, just FYI
I somehow managed to fight the 2nd boss first and man, she is just so fucking cool I didnt care how many times she beat me, loved every minute of it, theres another boss like that I've beat and you def gotta fight him, like he is actually just a badass and my only hint is that it's a creature/monster not a human, but that fight was anime as fuck and awesome.
Im glad I made a little challenge for myself which was to beat Melania and cure my frenzied flame before I started the DLC(Im on NG+/Journey 10) and that helped shake off the rust and get my dodging back in order lol I fought most of the first area bosses with no upgrades including the furnace golem and I didnt even resort to cheesy tactics like rot or poison or use a summon(dont have issues with people using them tho as some of these bosses be straight cheating with their auto aim/auto track/hitbox BS lol)
Im at lvl 351(which I started the DLC at) and like upgrade 8 on my Scadu blessing bouta fight Messmer.
Bricky, more like Shmicky
Watching bricks play and die a total of 10 times between rellana and divine beast makes me realize I am very bad at the game
Honestly even with the changes you really can’t tell if it’s easier, since the enemies are still able to kick your ass one way or the other.🐱
I remember getting 2-shot by a lot of these enemies on day 1. Did they tone down the scaling by a lot?
Not really, its a few percent more early on, like 2% per level.
Like most things in elden ring your build decides how difficult you want the game to be. Bricky's build, while pretty bad overall, actually gives him an even spread of bonuses to all of his defenses where as most people have a large amount in a few types of defenses, he's also wearing heavier armor and using the greatshield talisman, where as alot of people love to wear light armor and only use offensive talismans because they're used to being insanely strong in the main game now.
Nah, Bricky just has Heavy Armor + Defensive Talismans + a good amount of Vigor so he can actually take a hit or two. People usually go too hard on damage Talismans/stats (I was guilty of this when it comes to Talismans at first, but I am also on NG+ which makes a big difference as well) and wear lighter armor/have super low level blessing.
The blessing scaling difference means that the first few levels give you about twice as much a bonus, so level 1 = old 2, 2 = old 4, 3 = old 5, etc. You can pretty easily get a higher blessing level than Bricky did before fighting the bosses if you explore south first though, so it's not that big an impact.
As usual with From games it’s a shame the difficulty is at the front of the discussion. I just thought the DLC was really fun. It’s elevated ER to one of my favorite games ever.
-2 for finally awake joke
Man actually is so late to the party he reliably could look up whatever he wanted
A bricky steam that isnt simp for vtubers? About time.
Summons for bosses is fine, but summons for regular enemies is big baby energy, Kristoff is the main character at this point.
Skadoo tree
can you beat elden rings, as elden rings? elden rings rings elden ring. elden elden ahahahaha elden ring
Kristoff is not the greatest it's black knife tiche
skill issue dayo
I think the lock-on is really murdering Bricky in the Dancing Lion fight because its movement messes with the lock-on camera too much. Learn to fight without lock-on, like a real man!
The funny thing there's a boss weapon that scales with all the damage stats evenly so
Only 100 views in 4 minutes bro fell of
I've been trying to figure out why exactly I've been so lukewarm on this DLC and I think Bricky gave the perfect definition with that horned, acrobatic enemy: annoying. Almost every encounter in this DLC is annoying to deal with compared to FromSoft's previous work.
I think people just don't want to learn new things and expect every enemy to work the same as they always have in these games. Like the spinny guys with the circular blades that bricky didnt like at the start, literally all he had to do to stop getting rollcaught was to dodge forward instead of backwards like he was doing (no offense to him on that, everyone is going to panic roll against a new enemy type). Reminds me of how everyone hated sekiro at the start because they kept trying to play it exactly like dark souls and didnt want to learn anything new.
I think it's just your age dude
I am lukewarm towards it as well after finishing it and yeah for me out of remembrance fights I feel like only Rellanna and Midra felt cool to fight every other fight had something really annoying (Messmer was good till P2 where it looked cool but fighting it was lot less cool).
None of the DLC ennemies come close to those shark giant in bloodborne imo
The flame knight spam fireball a little to much when you're 1 and a half feet away, i'd agree on that part
