    How do I add cutlines to an image if they aren't automatically added after I add them in Silhouette and Affinity? Sometimes there are small spots I need cut out of designs but can't figure out how to do it. Thank you!!!

    Hi Melissa! Thank you for sharing all the tips and tricks to working with the BN20A. I have a quick question. I followed this tutorial to the t and was able to achieve the cut lines, so i was so happy. However, my machine does a double cut pass. I have it set to only one cut pass but after i do this process of going from silhouette studio to affinity, it always results in 2 cut passes. Other files that already come with the contour cut only pass 1 time. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi thanks for your video. SS is currently on sale for 50% off so I watched your video just at the right time!
    I am just wondering though, how do you offset the trace? Say you want the printer to cut clear vinyl stickers, and you want a transparent outline around your art? SS only traces around the colour, so I can't seem to add that gap so the printer leaves a clear border around the art. thanks!

      Hey there, the look of the software has changed a bit since this tutorial was posted but the steps are the same: silhouetteschoolblog.com/2015/06/silhouette-studio-trace-and-detach-tool.html

      @@SilhouetteSchool Thanks so much for your reply. Your video has helped me. I was unsure about so many things!! I am now wondering about all the options you're presented with when exporting to PDF. Do you think I need to export as CMYK or leave it as RGB and let the printers play with it however they want? Also should I disable rasterising? Thanks :)

    Hello! Your videos have been so helpful, thank you! I was successful in completing one png file to my google drive(Mac user). Now this second file is coming into Affinity in grey tones. Any clue why that is? I’m sure it’s something so simple, just can’t quite figure it out.

    please, how can I check the cutline, because I make the same instruction and sent it to a printing company
    I see on my pc is good, but in the test file from a printing company is not good
    is there any way to check the cut line file?

    Hi, the issue I keep encountering is when I trace and detach all of the elements separate making it hard to move off the canvas to delete the background.

    • @SilhouetteSchool

      Hey there, it can definitely be a little bit of work to regroup the individual elements.

  • @misslesliegarcia

    Hi, so I have a question. Since you can now download a file as an SVG in Canva, does that mean you can set up your design file in Canva and just export as a SVG with a transparent background? That seems like it would cut out the silhouette step.

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před rokem

      The Canva SVG exports can be hit or miss. If you're using Silhouette Studio anyway, definitely check out this blog post! www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2022/06/going-from-silhouette-cameo-to-roland.html

    Doesn't .png files automatically get a cut line around the graphic in Silhouette studio? Then just add an offset if you want a bigger border around file. I could be wrong.

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes - but only if you have the Auto Trace PNGs feature turned on. You always need to trace JPEGs.

      @@SilhouetteSchool I also didn't watch that you were using Roland to cut things out. I like using Affinity Designer and getting things imported into Silhouette Studio can be an issue for me. Thanks

    Could I just use a background remover online instead?

  • @james9862
    @james9862 Před 2 měsíci

    You could just trace in Affinity Designer, just saying.
