"Another Day in Paradise" addresses the homelessness theme, with a completely different musical style from that used by the singer up to that moment. The single reached the top of numerous charts, becoming one of the biggest hits of Phil Collins, who in 1991 won the Grammy Award for recording of the year. The song also won a Brit Award for Best British Single of 1990. For the title of the song, Phil took inspiration from a phrase from Mike + The Mechanics' Par Avion from 1985.
