A total of 73 aircraft, nearly 100 vehicles and other equipment were abandoned by US troops as they pulled out ahead of the 31 August deadline. But US Central Command head Gen Kenneth McKenzie said it had all been rendered impossible to use. "Those aircraft will never fly again," he said.

I’ve been flying helicopters for thirty years. Starting helicopters is easy. (The entire start procedure is in the engine starting checklists.) It’s flying helicopters that’s hard, especially when it comes to the landing part. Btw, nice APU start in this video.

You shouldn't be allowed to vote if you think the sitting president is solely responsible for the cluster fuck that was left for him. Afghanistan started 20 years before Biden was even in office. Read a book. Or read a newspaper. Doesn't even matter which one. Just stop learning from the internet. It's so sad. Actually read some history books. Check out post wwI Germany and the rise of nationalism and hopefully you can connect some dots before you become another pathetic casualty of idiocracy
You need to educate yourself
OH NO, A BUNCH OF OUTDATED EQUIPMENT! What will we ever use to stop our OWN DESIGNS, we couldn't possibly know their weaknesses! However shall we prevail against an army that can't replace parts of things we made 50 years ago? The horror!
Trump freed 5,000 Taliban prisoners, (in a deal between Pompeo and the Taliban to buy time for withdrawl) withdrew most US military forces from Afghanistan, and left all of that equipment there like 8 months prior to leaving Kabul. You can thank Joey B all you want but it started with the previous administration. Also, the taliban ain't gonna do much with what was left behind. Not too worried about it. Hell, Iran could wipe them off the map before they even get to level 2 with how to fly a chopper.
WHAT! NO WAY! Starting an LUH is like starting a blender.
When I left Afghanistan it had a helicopter pilot academy. They already know how to fly them.
You left Afghanistan???
No, they kicked you out in humiliation 🤣
@@user-nc7iq1ok2zI don’t understand the false narrative you’re trying to push. I’d love an adult debate though. Yes the taliban regained control of Afghanistan, simply because we let it happen. We left, no one was “forced” out. In every single way the US dominated that country, yes a lot of Americans died for it, it’s war. If you compare our numbers vs theirs though we won by sheer numbers. Our military was absolutely there for the wrong reasons and we overstayed our not so welcome visit, this I agree, countless people on both sides died in theater but to say we “lost” is not correct sir/maam. It’s hard to fight for a country that won’t fight for itself. There is a huge amount of ANA that stepped up and that we trained but the majority of the country was led by fear and intimidation by the taliban, many of the afghan soldiers the US trained ended up at some point flipping sides, going back to fight us alongside the taliban. It’s very hard to unpack 20+ years of war in a CZcams comment but let’s start somewhere. What I explained is what I understand to be true, I have an open mind though & if you have contradicting evidence that disproves the point I made from liable sources, I will happily admit my knowledge is wrong.

The Taliban already know how to fly them. They retained a number of Afgan Security Forces pilots and ground crews we trained to be able to fly them. Its literally the only reason they haven't crashed every Blackhawk we left there.
Not US troops, Joe Biden. Why the arbitrary deadline? China? Biden and Obama are traitors.
"Resourcefulness is what the Ukrainian army is using to successfully defeat the Russian army. What makes you think that anyone who has access to these kinds of war materials can't do the same.
I see here on YT every day how a bunch of backward looking guys in a "shop" that is our of the Dark Ages fix motors and other things. We Americans just junk our broken things as it's too expensive to repair them. They end up in junk yards that are bought as scrap by foreign countries. From there the scrap is turned into usable things. If you have 4 aircraft that don't work, you cannibalize one or two to make one fly.

I believe it was the previous president who invited the Taliban to a meeting and offered to give them back the country--without informing the legitimate government--in exchange for...nothing. Then he told them when we would leave--in case they wanted to prepare some IEDs.

I'm sure that Biden et. al. knew that this was gonna be a kluster-puck but what could he ... bring back a force of safe numbers and capability ,,, endure the wrath of the world for not withdrawing ,,, try again in 5 or 8 years ??? ... so they did the best they could with Trumpy's.
