Great example again of a car stereo related product. I did think of buying one of these but haven't got round to it yet.
I did manage to get a Ugar UX1 android head unit and I am very pleased with it for the price. It is better slightly than the Dasaita head unit I have too. It has a smoother screen movement and a better quality screen. The Vivid OS works really well with it.
Just my opinion of course though.
i just dont get it, every youtuber on here which is showing this stuff and every time they demo how this work, every single of them has no SIM card in there phones, but saying "this is my personal phone I use...." Scammers?

I connected this piece to the Pioneer 3800 screen and it works well... but I have a problem. The piece works well with the mobile SIM card and works well with the hot spot from an Android phone, but when I try to connect it to the hot spot from an iPhone, this message appears (IP configuration failure). Are there any suggestions to connect it to the iPhone hot spot?

I bought one in 4/2023, it worked good now 9/2023 CZcams or Netflix will not play. Shows not connected to network but my hotspot shows it is connected. Any suggestions on what the issue maybe???

Why does this device have no screen mirroring function, it’s been a night mare for me? Makes it worser that my car has no touchscreen and I have limited keypad input on my merc E class, would this device support a Bluetooth remote?

Great video but you are missing a massive feature which I can't seem to find details about...
I need to be able to see the gps speed which I'm going, when using either waze or google maps on the phone, it displays the speed limit of the street I am on and the speed which I'm traveling, this to me is the most important thing that anything of these devices should be doing and I can not find info regarding how to achieve it...
Just pull up waze or Google maps and it will show your speed just like it would if you weren't using this device and using the wired carplay.
Someone know a solution for this box save the widgets using nova launcher all the time the car restarts the widgets disappear

I have this unit. It stopped working. It shows my Netflix profiles, so I know it is connecting to Wifi. I click on my profile and it says to it can not connect to Netflix. RETRY. I have expired all of my knowledge on getting this connected. Do you have any suggestions?
I'd uninstall Netflix and reinstall. I have the Max version in daily use and love it

Just curious, my car (vw tiguan) already equipped with wireless android auto, and my android phone is connected to android auto automatically everytime i get into the car. When i plug in carlinkit, it works fine, with youtube and all. But how do i get back to my original VW infotainment screen? It looks like i can only switch between my phone's android auto screen (under android auto) or this android syatem(under apple carplay) when i clicked on "Home". My only connected cable to mycar usc is to the carlinkit device. Can you teach me how to switch among 3 screens: 1) VW original infotainment, 2) android auto(connected to my phone) and 3) carlinkit android system? Thanks a million :-)

Not a good buy. I purchased a T box and it never connects to CarPlay. I end up restarting the vehicle couple of times to connect. Also it gets disconnected frequently. Manufacturer is giving software updates which is not exactly helping. Steering wheel controls on Toyota Fortuner is also not compatible with this.
Man I had a Civic 2014 Factory Headunit I wish one of this could work but a developer guy tell me i never be able to have Android Auto because my Radio... I tell him nothing is impossible with technology lol

Yeah there is a device called CarPC which uses the Android Auto interface instead of CarPlay

Sorry to be dumb, but you state that this was WITHOUT being connected to a phone. I don't understand where the unit is getting the data allowance from ? What am I missing ?
It takes a SIM. But you can connect it to your phone hotspot too
So its not a stand alone unit, you either have to pay a SIM charge, or link it to your phone, which you can link to your car already @@SaabUnleashed
@@anthonybeaman6213to be clear, it is a stand alone unit. It does not need data to work, for example, you can download map data, and put your music on it, and then it never needs to be online again.
But obviously using it offline will remove notifying you of issues like traffic, roadworks and police ect

You don't need a SIM card at all, you can just connect it to your phone's WiFi hot spot.
But if you didn't want to do that, yes you need a data plan for the SIM.

Have you tested out a SIM in the AI boxes? I did recently purchase the CPC200 also, but I'm looking for a pre-paid sim that can connect to data on its own. The funny thing is most mobile service providers want the IEMI number when trying to activate a new line. Any tips on the whole SIM card thing?
Yeah I have one in the CPC200 in my Mustang. I didn't go for Pay as you go though, I chose one of the cheap second SIM options. I think I pay £6 per month

This is not correct and shows that you don't understand how to use it. The brand of phone you use is irrelevant.
These apps run on this device, not your iPhone. The only thing you would potentially use your iPhone for odd to supply this device with internet access by connecting it to your iPhones WiFi hotspot

Hi Alan, you have a choice. You can either give it it's own SIM, or you can simply connect it to your phone's WiFi hotspot, which is what I am going here.

If all I want to do is use wireless AA, will it just connect automatically by Bluetooth without enabling the hotspot (EDIT: just found another YT video on the carlinkit website which showed me you just need Bluetooth enabled)? On this point, are there cheaper, less highly specced AI boxes on the market that (say) give you wireless AA/CP, plus a SD slot for local music files, and nothing else? While I like the look of this Carlinkit box, something like that would be ideal for me.

So most apps require a data connection (but not all). Data is good because it allows you to stream music and can provide live map data for navigation, such as traffic and speed camera locations.
If you put a SIM in, you will permanently have a data connection without the requirement to connect a phone.
However, that will require a SIM.
The alternative is to turn on your mobile phone's WiFi hotspot and connect to that

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are a kind of mirroring. They stream certain apps installed on the mobile to the screen in the car. Waze is compatible with this along with most navigation apps. Video playback apps are not compatible though, which is one of the reasons why an AI box is good
@@SaabUnleashed ah, I opt for Android head units and buy the made for specific make/model for oem feature retainage and fitment. It's best of both worlds with a jailbroken head unit that can run any app (video included) that you desire.
Free car launch + dsp + CZcams is a pretty sick combo all around.

Well it's not magic. To get internet, you will either need to connect it to your phone's wifi hotspot or install a SIM

Does it need a phone to work with maps ?
No, not if you download the map area that you're going or be using. Obviously if you want online features such as traffic and road works rerouting, you should put it online either with your phone's hotspot or by installing a 4g sim

You can do that with any android device, but as it actually runs android, mirroring isn't really worth doing

None of them because there is no canbus recognition for that in aftermarket head units

I would imagine so as the CPU will be working hard and the heat will need to go somewhere

@@arm2644 I don't believe that's possible with this as it actually requires Carplay protocols to actually function
@@SaabUnleashed maybe you should try it out, that would be a good solution for old Android headunit to upgrade them to Android 11. I think that would be kind of stupid if you have to connect first a CPC200-CP2A dongle and to this dongle the CPC200-AIbox. The CPC200-AIbox should be able to recognize the AutoKit APP

Why would you want that? The point of this is to add Android to a non android radio
