I'm British and one of my favourite things about the UK is that it attracts wonderful people from all over the world. I live in a small town at present and I can walk through the main shopping area and hear six or seven languages in a few minutes. That's an interesting list. Especially saying good things about the food and drink here (which can be terrible but yes, there's great stuff if you know where to seek it out). As a nation we are often pretty down on ourselves - especially lately. It's really encouraging to hear how others view the UK sometimes. As a Brit, one thing I'd add to your list that I always love and celebrate about the UK is our right, protection and access to our countryside. The vast network of footpaths and bridleways, many of which are afforded high levels of historic protection simply because someone used to drive some sheep down it three-hundred years ago. The large amounts of public owned space, including practically all our coastline. The right to roam. The reciprocal access to tracks across farmland, and the large protected areas looked after by charities such as the National Trust. I've travelled to many countries in the world with amazing nature and spectacular scenery, but few are as good at ensuring the public has wide-ranging, easy and protected access to that countryside as we do here. I'll forever love the UK for that.

    Some clarification
On average it rains 1 day out of 3. But depends where you live. More so in north england/Scotland and 1 in 4 in south east. And on that third day the rain might be for 2 minutes or 12 hours -but on average somewhere in between.
That said it can rain for days - or could be sunny and dry.
Right now on 2nd July 2018 it has been sunny almost every day for 60 days straight now. The grass is burnt brown and the forests on fire.

Since you mention parks in your post I invite you to look at Sheffield from Google Earth and compared this to Manchester. Sheffield has a population close to 600,000 at it looks green like a small village. So many parks and something called common land.
By moving to Belguim I did realize something about England that I never realized was in a way unique. NEARLT CONSTANT WIND. Some of the windiest places on Earth are Ireland, Scotland and Northern England. I thought everywhere had wind like we did, but no, it seems that most people on Earth live in calm serenity.

As for humour, John Cleese came from down that way-Weston Super Mare, Bill Bailey's from the West Country too. Try the BBC iplayer for some of their archive documentaries and their comedies 'This Country' is quite good about kids in a Cotswold village, also 'Witless' about two girls on witness-protection. Your positive attitude towards the Uk actually made me feel quite emotional. We’re always being slagged off by the EU bunch and by people banging on about our past, yet we’re actually nice people. Love you and you’re thoughts. Cheers

It's funny.....I've been meeting many Portuguese speaking South Americans on trains over the last couple of years and when I've been earwigging to them speaking to each other, I have thought that they were Eastern Europeans with good sun- tans! Listening to your accent initially, I thought you were Eastern European as well...Funny, ain't it? I guess I always expect Portuguese to sound like Spaniards, I suppose.......

Loved this... right up until you mentioned your love of the BBC. And this was 2017 after they had totally exposed themselves. Never mind. You seem like a lovely person. My wife of 31 years is Portuguese, from Madeira. She is like you in that she really does not like hot weather so is quite happy with the climate here. No idea if youre still making vids. i'm going to take a look, but regardless of what youre doing now i hope youre happy and healthy and life's being good to you. Adeus, minha querida 💋

With so many people being so negative about our country, it's nice to be reminded that we have some pretty great things that perhaps we overlook.

A woman after my own heart that hates hot weather lol, I'm the same, I used to love hot weather as a kid but as I got older, I don't like it anymore and thats the modest hot weather in the UK, anyway, this summers been bad, I felt like I wanted to move to the north pole just to get away from the sun lol.

Off the top of my head, I would say pie (shepherd's, pork, cottage, steak and ale, there are many variations), Cornish pasties, Scotch eggs. Sunday roasts are also traditional and you can find some places where they're not expensive. Hope this helps!

Agreed, but you have never had a curry unless you had it in India. Curry in the UK is not the same.
