Marianne Faithfull - Guilt, 1979 From her epic album Broken English. Lyrics below. This is one of three instrumentals I re-made in the 80s from that album. Hmm not her most famous song. That was probably 'The Ballad of Lucy Jordan'. Right after uploading I noticed something odd about this one. It's transposed 1 key down. I never do that and I wondered why. I probably used an old cassette-tape as guide track when I recorded this by ear. These things were either too slow or too fast when tapes from other recorders were used. It wasn't until mid '85 that I purchased the CD. Yep, still got it. Sure, still listen to it now and then, till death do us part I guess.

I presumed it was an actual unreleased backing track on the same lines of the unreleased versions from the deluxe 2CD version released in 2013.
Absolutely blown away by this version, it really illustrates the high level of musicianship involved with the Broken English album.

Very nice. It's my favorite song from the record. And the record is one of my top 100 albums to have in case I'm ever stranded on an island.

Wow, this is really good. You did a great job, pretty much identical to the original. Guilt is one of my favorite Marianne songs. Thanks for sharing this with us all.

Very nice instrumentation! Almost identical to hers! This is my favorite from Broken English, also (although "Why'd Ya Do it" is catching up now. :-) )
