“Origi needs to be a miracle worker”, some things are just meant to be aren’t they 😢
He was saying klopp needs to be a miracle worker
How right Phil Thompson was
Except for Emilyn Hughes there is no one I trust more as a defender the Phil Thompson.
@@Dbusdriver71 1 Prem title whatever

9 years later and Phil Thompson was proven right. He was a sensational appointment.
@secla_SC And Klopp!
"Liverpool in danger of becoming the new Spurs" Fast forward to 2024, Spurs is still Spurs, and Liverpool has won everything since then.
Except a proper premier league
@@Swan94yDo explain….
@@TheAtp21 they havent won a proper prem, not hard to understand
@@Swan94yWhat constitutes a "proper prem" ? Like winning it without breaking 115 financial fair play rules ? Not hard to understand that the one "improper prem", as you put it is more prestigious than all of the Prems City have won.
even before then Liverpool had won 3 trophies in 2001 a champions league fa cups and everything else
Benteke, Danny Ings, Sturridge. A mouth watering set of forwards!
However little did Jeff know that he would be right about Origi being a miracle worker

Back when Soccer Saturday on Sky was worth watching - proper footballers talking with knowledge. As for Klopp, Thommo who knows a thing or two spot on. Miss those days and will miss Klopp so very much!
That Liverpool squad that he inherited was terrible as well 😂
damn
Thommo was pretty spot on. Looks obvious now in hindsight.
Miss these days. Proper Soccer Saturday this.
Was thinking exactly the same
Chemistry.
Soccer AM and then Soccer Saturday…absolute golden age of Sky.
Definitely 👍
How fitting Klopps first game was a half 12 kick off after international duty😂
Something he never got used to.
The majority of his games were 12:30 kickoffs to satisfy the Asian market. Liverpool has a huge following over there.
‘Capital One Cup’ instantly ages this clip. 😂
aptly, Klopp's last trophy with liverpool
I wish people would just stick to simple League Cup
And by God did he walk the walk
The current sky sports panel doesn’t compare to this
Thank God
No. Its is complete mess these days.
@@razbigranicuExactly, and I loved them.
@@Foo-oo-oo-oolsGold89box ticking is all they care about
As a Man Utd fan the next 4 years from this became history. He has been sensational for Liverpool and there greatest manager of the Premier League era. An absolute legend
I misread that as 'the greatest...' at first and was like this guys no United fan 😂
Phil was bang on there.
Depressing to me that 2015 was seen as a long time ago now. Good times.
I feel even more depressed at the thought of the World Cup in Brazil being 10 years ago when it felt like yesterday …
@@dejivjfthat’s life
These lot are giggling, Phil Thompson was spot on! What an appointment he was for Liverpool!
Having watched his Dormtund extensively, I had little doubt we would end up at Liverpool (something that was laughed at at the time!) and he'd bring the silverware back to Anfield as Tweets of mine back then prove.
But on this, you could see in this game, against Spurs, how much of a pressing monster Liverpool had become compared to the damp squib of Liverpool in the last season and a bit under Rodgers. Lallana was a man possessed out there that day. Liverpool soon after this went away to Chelsea and City, beat them in B2B weeks. I am not saying Klopp was the only one to get a tune immediately, but just look at the squad that day at WHL. Reaching a League Cup and Europa League Final, all without a pre-season, too, was super underrated even back then. Unlike other managers, Liverpool went step by step up the progression ladder until they won the league. There was no weird jump all of a sudden out of nowhere. Every step made sense.
I'll be forever grateful to Jurgen Klopp for not just the past 9 years but 16 total. I followed Dortmund for a few reasons, but he stumbled into my life in 2009, thanks to Setanta Sports showing Bundesliga football. He was always special. He responates with me (and many others) because he cares for more than just football, unlike other men who may have won more than him. Liverpool fans get called passion merchants and all that, but I have no issue with being deemed that. It matters. On and off the pitch. I can say some new age fans in recent years could learn about the off the pitch stuff. We aren't Chelsea, for example, nor would I ever want to be.
Jurgen Klopp is.. was our modern day Shankly. He made us smile. He made my life better being such a constant. He deserves his rest and to enjoy a less stressful life. And maybe in time, the German NT will top off his wonderful managerial career.
Edit - someone deleted a reply to me, but saying I am being a hindsight merchant would be the case for many, if you want my Twitter I can link it showing how long I have been Tweeting about Klopp and Dortmind alone lol.
Oh and Origi is an immortal. Miracle worker super sub plenty of times
Ah, the glory days. Bring them back. Now.
They all laugh at Thommo,
Let’s play a game shall we…?
It’s called “medals on the table”
There were all laughing !! How right phil was
Soccer Saturday before they ruined it
that "be quiet" from Thomson was great.
A proper set of pundits. Talking with experience instead of ticking boxes.
Phil was on point 🤷🏾♂️💯💯💯
And after 9 years and Liverpool have won everything under Klopp, they are not laughing anymore.
I think he will do pretty well
0:25 "Be quiet" tell 'em Phil.
Amazing to see this, how much has changed - the squad, the club, the supporters, the city. Jurgen changed everything for the better. Milner and Origi in the starting 11, amazing.
Klopp went and did everything he said he’d do
well charlie under klopp we did get our soul back :) he will be missed
State of that Liverpool team. Can (then) and Coutinho (then) would get into today's team... NOBODY else even close.
Milner was on the sheet...
Origi was fantastic at the start, often overlooked because of his memelord status. He really could have been a top striker, but there was a very serious injury that put him out for an extended period, and ultimately was written out of the plans. Emre Can was good, Coutinho was amazing, Milner was always up there, Hendo was the perfect Klopp midfielder, did his job and was happy with it, aside from that a very very average team.
merson saying that team was capable of top 4 is hilarious
Pep could NEVER do what Klopp did with the players klopp had… NO chance
I miss this panel. Would make my weekends as a young kid who couldn’t watch the footy live and always keep up the scores on soccer Saturday. A big shame when they got the sack for no valid reason
The people in charge of these TV networks are out of touch with reality. They tell viewers what to want instead of listening to viewers. The majority of people were fine with the old panel
@@GoGetYourShineboxTime marches on and few of the younger audience know who these people are. That’s the way of the world. The current panel is very good as well . Merse is still there but I enjoy the banter between Clinton Morrison and Boydie.
everybody laughed at him. who's laughing now
You see how they’ve aged..
Scary how time flies!
Back when soccer Saturday was actually watchable. A shame to see what it’s become
When you look at that team and where he’s got them too, it’s fairly remarkable
Love him. 😍😍
A football man just knows Thommo was spot on
The sensation of all sensations the normal one Jurgen Klopp!😊
The glory days. Was never the same after the 2020 outbreak
The next season 21-22 they won both domestic cups, lost PL by one point a UCl final 1-0 they were clearly the better team in. Only last two seasons they’ve not been as good
@@BecuaseTheInternet1080Yeah, everyone really hyped liverpool to win the quadruple, and even in the final day city was losing 2-0 to villa before gundogan happened.
@@adithwes6467 but even at 2-0 down City were still top because Liverpool took a while to break Wolves down
Even though post covid has seen a decline, I think the real decline started post 9/11. It's usually always at the start or end of the decade something happens to alter the course
Phil was spot on. The legend in Jürgen Klopp. YNWA
When this was broadcast, Luton were in league 2! 😮
The first guy who spoke, what a prediction, he said it first, Liverpool did a Coup.
Thats Phil Thomson, a Liverpool legend
Back when they all wore suits
The Normal One
Back when Soccer Saturday had real football people on it.
Phil Thompson knew from the start
Bring this back, please!!!
I think Phil had the last laugh 😂
I don't know, Jeff!
Thomo saw it coming from the get go. He had the knowledge, playing under 2 of the best managers ever.
Merson looking like Ray Winston nowadays 😂😂
You tell em, Thommo!
I bet they ate humble pie now 🤣.
Funny the opening statement given how many crucial goals Origi went on to score for Klopp.
Does anyone know how Klopp got on?
Yeah he won the league ONCE!
@@pjoseph5950and the European Cup. And the FA Cup. And the league cup. And the rest.
Bring the boys back!
Good job for his own sake that klopp didn’t have “the first say and the last say” on transfers after the story about the club opting for salah over klopp wanting Julian brandt
This aged well. Them laughing ..
When Soccer Saturday was good.
Did mat ever miss a pen sure he never in real game scored amazing goals love respect to Phil
I see the comments about the 'glory days' of soccer saturday ....then remember the real glory days geoGre best, rodney marsh and this panel....theyve completely destroyed it
Gotta tick those boxes apparently
1:20 luton's in league 2
No, Luton is in London. They are in League 2 in this clip.
Tbf Charlie was correct. They did identify Virgil to help fix the defence. The Coutinho money went a long way and he did stamp his personality all over the club.
Bury 4th in League One - those were the days
Because you cheated and then went bust. What a Shame 😭
Brilliant Geoff 😂
And the rest is History ❤️
This aged really well 😅
Let’s hope the same can be said of Slot.
This format on sky was easily the best on a saturday morning.
Dortmund style of play
Phil Thompson's nose is not just impressively handsome... it's clairvoyant. I think his nostrils may exist in the future.
3:21 Rangers was in 2nd division of Scotland.
Just looking at spurs vs Liverpool teams across the bottom, when spurs actually had a decent team and that Liverpool side were so poor how it changed after klopp.
And the rest is history well said thomo 👏
LOL, Ings, Benteke and sturridge- Firmino, Salah , Mane ...
Goat Soccer Saturday Days
Just shows what he had to deal with when he came in
Jeff really hates Liverpool 😂
They should have listened to Thommo.
And look what happened 🔴✨🏆🥇🏆🥇🏆✨😃
Le Tiss❤
How do you know they said lol
Meanwhile in a parallel universe where the Heisenberg sits at the same with Liam Neeson to talk about the future of Liverpool.
soccer Saturday when it was worth watching
What Liverpool supporters did not recognize is this ... Jurgen Klopp walked away from every football team/club he ever managed !!!.
Who's here after he's gone 😢
Everyone.. it was released 2 days ago.
1 in 9
Proved them all wrong not laughing now
They laughed ….
Corner taken quickly..
Jesus, look at that crappy lineup. No wonder it took Klopp 4,5 years to win the title.
It was crap. But how many managers do oooh, I dunno, say... Watford go through in 5 minutes. Look what happens when you give a guy a few transfer windows.
Back when Soccer Saturday was worth watching, no tick box inserts who never played in the EPL Sky Sports is junk now.
You mean there was no women?
COME ON ARSENAL ❤❤❤❤
say cmon west ham bro
@@bhyproductions6990I mean we need to win too
You should Say tonight until end last season game Cooooooom onnnnnnnn Hammmmmmmmmmers 😆😆😆
Amorim would have been Liverpool boss but they've had to settle for Slot. Lisbon President moved the goalposts and wanted 20m not 10m at the last minute. Sabotaged Amorim and Liverpool alike.
"Had to settle". He plays 3 at the back counter attack football. He seems like a good man manager though.
I'm ok with that. Slot's best on paper. Now, will HE walk the walk?
You post some waffle.
