Hello, I have a TD145 and the tone arm has this light "buzz" sound that goes up and down, and is yet constantly here. So I am thinking to :
    - fix the tonearm, but how to identify the cause of this buzz sound and get rid of it?
    - replace with a new tonearm: so should I use a TP-16 one or another one? From what I understand, auto-stop may disappear if I change tonearm.
Thanks to anyone who can help ! :)

Not trying to be a smart arse, but why not sit the TT higher and use nylock nuts?

Hi, I found your wonderfully informative videos whilst scrounging around on CZcams for info on restoring my newly acquired turn table. I just bought a stereo(mono) console because it contained a Thorens td-124 turntable with an ESL-2000 arm. This turntable is wired up for mono as it looks like they combined the two channels into one at the bus bar, however the 4 wires plus the ground wire coming out of the tonearm have broken off from the bus bar. I want to reattach the tone arm wires to the appropriate spots on the buss bar and add RCA cables coming off the bus bar but don't know which are the positive and negative wires. The 4 wires are red, green, black and white. I saw your vids on changing out the wires on the Thorens head shell and they were those same colors so I'm guessing that they are pretty standard color scheme for tone arms. Could you please explain to me how they are wired up or give me a lead as to were I could get this info?
    Thanks for the videos, Brian.

I did not watch The first half of this video But would You say that The hardest part of installing a new tonearm would be drilling The holes in The arm board and The rest would be a simple "bolt on"?

Maybe it would make sense to invest in some slim miniature open ended wrenches, so you aren't trying to hold the nut by jamming a screwdriver against the flat.

Got a source? They would have to be really thin so as not to ruin the top plate...
