  • It is finally time to build my ARDyno! I have been waiting for a while waiting for the right bits and pieces.
    ardyno.weebly.com/ - Get an ARDyno board for yourself
    / @2strokestuffing - 2strokestuffing
    s.click.aliexpress.com/e/l6gAbjy4 - Uno R3
    s.click.aliexpress.com/e/cvQXKJwY - NPN Hall sensor
    s.click.aliexpress.com/e/dyr4c3iC - Inductive Clamp
    Well after owning this board for longer than I would like to admit I have finally got the bare bones of a dyno setup...
    ARDyno just requires a big roller, this one is about 300lbs for just the roller itself. Then you need a RPM input signal from the roller and also an RPM input from the engine you are running.
    Bonus at the end of a quick run up of the RC-One Typhoon 2 stroke.
    Some of the tools I use:
    Vevor Case splitter/ Crank Puller Combo:

    Hi pitobread, would you be able to share your calculation for the roller mass required?
    I am trying to build an inertia dyno for a 110hp motorcycle. what should the mass be approximately?

      @next_step9393 Před 10 měsíci

      hi shadow, are you build chasis? and Did you find the calculation?

    • @shadowcoder19
      @shadowcoder19 Před 9 měsíci

      @@next_step9393 hello, no I haven't built it yet. I will not be building an inertia dyno anymore. I think the best way to go is a dyno with braking system. So the mass does not matter much. I am looking into hydraulic pump to use as braking force.

    • @shadowcoder19
      @shadowcoder19 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Calculation of mass of roller:
      Maximum force of acceleration of tire to asphalt surface:
      Fr = c * m * g --> Fr = 0.02 * 210 * 9.81 = 41.2N
      This is the maximum force the bike is allowed to accelerate with before the 210kg bike begins to skid and is not able to move forward. If the force is lower, then you are not accelerating at the maximum possible with the given road conditions.
      Maximum linear acceleration of the bike:
      F = m * a (Newton's 2nd law)
      at = 41.2 / 210 = 0.2 m/s^2
      Calculation of roller mass (solid roller):
      (1) τ = I * a --> τ = 1/2*m*r^2 * at/r --> τ = 1/2*m*r*at
      (2) τ = F * r --> τ = F * r
      Substitute 1 into 2:
      F * r = 1/2*m*r*at --> m = 2*F/at --> m = 2 * 41.2 / 0.2 = 412kg
      So the roller should be 412kg

I have been looking for such a piece and it's driving me crazy trying to find something. I seen your large motor suggestion but trying to make my dyno look legit and also very safe. Thanks

    • @pitobread
      @pitobread  Před 4 lety

      @@luisreneventura It is a bit weight and a bit roller diameter. You need the roller to be big enough that you don't have a crazy roller RPM when the bike wheel speed gets high. I would get 12"+ in diameter and 500+lbs but that's just a guess without putting pen to paper.
