Wow! David, you are on fire. I am mesmerized at how well you make the notes flow and work so well together. I am sure there is better terminology for this but I am a little ignorant of music, so I apologize if I sound a bit uneducated in this manner. I have spent the better part of the last 25 yrs in Military Medicine. You are my new inspiration and a wonderful motivation. I am still in military medicine but I am retired from active status and believe it or not, at 53 yrs old, I now want to learn the piano! Thank you for the inspiration David!
One feature that David Hicken seems to use a lot in his more technical pieces is what is called Perpetuum Mobile. It's basically long passages, or often an entire song, which has a constant steady rhythm, often sixteenth notes or triplets, without a single break. A good example of this is David Hicken's Incantation and Incantation 2.0. Another, from another artist, is Jon Schmidt's Waterfall.
