Cleaning My Entire House In One Day!

- Hello everyone! As we are nearing Fall and Decorating for Fall, I wanted to get my house clean so that I can focus on using my second-hand decor and some new ones that I purchased recently to give my house an update! We live in an 80 year old home and I love Grandmacore and Victorian Cottage style things, but I need a clean house to get in the zone for creativity! So let's get this whole house clean! Many years ago there used to be a home improvement chain called National Lumber. There was a sign when you walked in the doors there that said something to the effect of it being a working warehouse - there would be loud beeping, forklifts, sawdust, etc - it was not a perfectly groomed store. That was the gist of it anyway - the exact wording is long lost in a ditch somewhere along memory lane in my mind. I've always thought there should be a similar sign in my house. "This is an actual working house, it is not a model home. Despite regular efforts to keep it clean, there will be cat hair on everything. There will be some splatters on the stove from the multitude of meals cooked daily and there will be a few dirty dishes in the sink most of the time, even after all dishes have been done. There will be laundry needing to be folded, cleared horizontal surfaces will remain so for approximately 2 minutes only. People live here."
I think I remember one of those stores from when I was younger! I love what that said, life is messy sometimes and we just can’t have a showroom all the time, especially if we spend a lot of time in our home. Home is not like Pinterest, it rarely stays that pretty, in my house anyways lol. We have dog hair everywhere and me and my husband throw things around 😆
@@dearmikaila LOL Pinterest is not like Pinterest - what you don't see is the stuff that got piled up behind the camera to make what's in the frame look good. Life is messy, that's all there is to it. There's a meme I saw that said "My cleaning style can be described as 'There appears to have been a struggle'. - It makes me laugh and it comes to my head often when I'm wondering where the surface of the kitchen table disappeared to. 😅
@@plantlady1227 YES! I think we have the same cleaning struggle lol, we got our whole house clean a couple of days ago and we were like “wow”! Now I feel like telling people…I’m sorry you missed the other day when it was clean lol

I love making as many thing homemade as I can too. I was doing laundry soap but we have a high efficiency washer and couldn’t continue to use it. I too had trouble with a good homemade dishwasher soap. But I make body butter, body lotion, soap and chapstick❤
I like to do that to! This is the first recipe I have used that I like for my laundry 🧺. Maybe I’ll eventually find a good dishwasher soap to use, I’m going to keep trying different recipes. I need to get into making more body stuff!

I've been burning a cinnamon apple candle - it's like I'm subconsciously trying to summon Fall weather - I'm so over this August heat! 😅

I would love to one what you use for your laundry. I know that's random, but I keep thinking that every time I see you do your laundry. Oh my goodness, yes! I love the fall cleaners from Mrs. Meyers!!!!! That is my absolute favorite cleaner ever. Lol
I mostly make my own but sometimes I’ll get some Mrs. Meyers if there is a sale or some Method! I love the Mrs. Meyers cleaners too! Gosh they smell good 😊

I live in Massachusetts. I cannot wait in a couple of weeks. It will be September and October is the best month in Massachusetts with all the leaves and the cool weather. Praise God. Here in Arkansas we usually don’t get the “Fall” weather until October, but maybe this year it could come early! I am so ready for it 🥰
I just made applesauce today. What I do is I incorporate in my Kodiak oatmeal when I make it so I just use that round apple cutter, I leave the peel on it and put them in a pan and add a little bit of water, cinnamon, nutmeg and then I put the sugar-free Vermont maple syrup or any sugar-free syrup and that’s it, it should last me a week or more.
