but router lift and base plate way too expensive for me, it's great idea for using ACP for top

With smaller bits (i.e. 1/2 dovetail) the fence assembly can cover the lift screw.
One might rotate the lift assembly 180 degrees and make a new hole for the crank in front.

    Great video.
I have the same/similar plate and lift. I found the bolt to raise and lower the lift rubbed on the bottom of the plate and was a little "sloppy". So 3d printed a little wear cap to go over the head of the bolt. It reduced friction and stopped it grinding on the bottom of the plate.

Hey, a few things to point out. I did buy the same kit, I'm planning to make a similar router table like this one.
1, It would be sensible to mark a midline for the fence to have a reference line to keep it straight. Also, I'd route out a groove for a ruler on both sides of the insert plate. The one on the plate is okay, but not for accurate work.
2, Safety first. This kit badly needs a starter pin and a hole to make it safe without the fence.
3, The mitre gauge is… sufficient, but there are better options. The T-track on the long side is suitable for the job, if accurate enough.
4, What is that pushstick? :D

What was that composite material u used for the top? This really made it a nice finish in the end. I never bought the router plate when I should have but the lift is doing fine atm. I didn't put springs on it.
I really like the blue colour table top with the GOLD colour plate.. It makes a nice finish to the top of the table. Keep up the great work pal.

I bought one of thee. Do u need to put some springs on the shafts bcos some ppl have said it moves/drops when ur in the middle of using this router lift. It's a good little lift but the issue I heard about has been spoken about by a few ppl now.
Love the look of this mini router table though pal. Great build but all ur builds are tbf..

Seems strange they would put the Router Raise/Lower Hex Bolt hole between the fences.. Why did they not put it in front of the fence where you could get to it easily? Ha..

    • @mikewelch3903
      @mikewelch3903 Před 8 měsíci

“They” didn’t put it between the fences. This guy did. I agree with you, he would have mounted it rotated 180º.

Actually that is where most of the Chinese insert plates have the hole for the 'crank' ...
The first Chinese designer did it that way and all the rest just copied his mistake.
Original thought is not encourage among Chinese engineers and/or designers.
