The Theme was a Box of Chocolates.
Inspired by "Quality Street" which are a box ( or Tin) of flavoured chocolates in which each chocolate flavour is represented by a different coloured foil wrapper.
Orange Creme had a Orange wrapper.
Hazlenut was Purple.
Strawberry had a Red wrapper.
Fudge was Pink.
The above are just a few examples of the flavour/colour representations.
Quality Street Chocolates have been been around since 1936 so a historic choice as inspiration for Drag Race UK.
More seasons need to do call backs like this. Philippines did a huge tribute to their impressive public transportation system in their promos

Ginger Johnson's shoes were white to signify the traditional Cadbury colours (royal purple and white) because they had a very, very long promotional campaign stating 'Dairy Milk - made with one an a half glasses per bar'. Also, again, the two slightly differently colours represent the matt purple wrapper with the purple metallic wrapper beneath. There are a whole lot of references in all these looks that mean absolutely nothing outside of the UK. That doesn't mean every look is great, but it does mean that there is logic behind a lot of the choices. 🖤

I’m USian, but I’m kinda familiar with Cadbury and I totally got the matte and metallic textures! Thought it was clever to include both. But I agree with Yuhua that there was a more fashion forward way to incorporate both.
I personally would’ve done white hair instead of white shoes. But I get she likes to keep with the ginger theme for her hair, so maybe white accessories?
I thought of another one: she could’ve made the white buttons on her outfit look like candy and/or just REALLY lean into the whole candy theme and make it super camp.
Given the theme - 'Quality Street' and 'Roses' - the looks are amazingly accurate. The colours are correct for the chocolates, which are individually wrapped in either a coloured cellophane with a secondary bare metal foil beneath or they are in a coloured metal foil that is silvery beneath. It's also traditional to receive boxes of them at Christmas so Banksie's tie in with Jesus was perfection. Great work London (they're mostly London working queens). 🖤

I agree with you ever since drag race UK season two (I wanna say) which was probably when season 13 was on. I’ve been enjoying the UK the franchise more than US main franchise. Probably because I’m a Brit I dunno 😝
DRUK season 2 was one of the best seasons we’d had in a while across all franchises. So it makes sense that we’d feel that way about RPDR season 13 as it was airing around the same time or immediately right after UK 2.

I know it doesn't forgive the whole look, but the two purples that "don't match" on Ginger Johnson's look are actually the two shades on the Quality Street that the look was inspired by. So in this case, she chose to match the brief rather than what stylistically looks good.
I have a feeling the colours were either given to them directly or they got to choose from a list. It's even possible they were given the exact Pantone shades to use (or get as close as possible to) in order for them to get agreement to represent the brands. Cadbury's, for example, is extremely litigious around anything using their trademark purple shade commercially or advertorially. 🖤

At first I thought maybe the theme was jewel tones like for the royal family’s “Crown Jewels” (which I feel would’ve been a good theme with many layers) but then I realized it was a Quality Street themed instead.

The theme is specifically quality street chocolate as each chocolate has a different wrapping to indicate what flavour it was. Hope this clears up the theme for you Americans 🫶🏻
