- Another special request! This time from my wife. Call it a purse, crossbody bag, saddle bag . . . satchel? The pattern can be purchased on Etsy from Karlova Design (pattern name "Whiskey") . They have a lot of very cool stuff and their leathercraft patterns are well engineered and thought out. They didn't sponsor this video, but you should definitely check out their shop.
As per the pattern's suggestion, I built this piece with veg-tan that I oiled and conditioned with Aussie. It was only after I was almost done my wife asked for a dragon on the front flap (instead of the Road Agent logotype.) Will have to make that alteration later. I'll post it on my instagram. I absolutely get annoyed when making bags (so much stitching and I don't use a machine at all). But there is definitely a sense of accomplishment when one turns out line this.

Nice to see you cut some leather by hand again. I will admit I have been using an arbor press lately to die cut patterns. Consistency has its place. Nice work once again and the two tone is a smart decision.

@@RoadAgentLeather ps- I only say "nearly" because, well.. Nothing is actually 'perfect'. But this is about as close as I've seen with this type of work.
I really have to look into finding a good set of the round stitch punches they make for really attractive stitching and much easier hand stitches which my fingers would thank me for.

Excellent color choices. I love that they are sunbaked ;-) but I fear the birds around here might consider them a target like my truck.
lol. I got lucky on that. It's regularly 100 degrees in the shade where I live.
You could always use the truck dash to sun tan it.

Thanks! Are you referring to the spacing? The chisels I'm using in this video are 5 mm spacing. The actual holes themselves are about 1mm. The WUTA sets come with both the hole punches and even smaller pricking chisel heads.

Is #5 Means 5mm on your chisel? And lastly when you used chisel for holster which # where you using?.Great work really beautiful!!
Correct; "5" is 5 mm center-to-center. I tend to use the 4 mm chisel for most work. The smaller/finer the project the smaller the stitches (generally)

Hello idol, a question, you clean the leather you are going to work with a brush and soap, then you store it wet in a nylon bag, why is it stored in the nylon bag and for how long? It's called "casing". It prepares the leather to accept tooling/stamps. I put it in the bag to let the moisture fully penetrate the leather and not dry out. It's usually only a few hours. Some allow it to sit over night.

Bro, could you make Arthur Morgan's bag and holster?
If I could find the "definitive" version. I've looked it up before (as I played RDR) and there are several different rigs he carries.
@@RoadAgentLeather so, you could make the diferent rigs as kind of "series". But a more simple alternative is tô consider the arthur's Action figure model as the definitive one. I'll search the Action figure models
@@RoadAgentLeather i found it: the definitive/standard models of holsters, belt, and bag have the name of Arthur (Arthur's belt, Arthur's holster, Arthur's satchel), but his bandolier is simply called "bandolier". All this models are the first ones acquired in the game canon events
