It's an original song composed in 2008 by Journey band members for Arnel Pineda to sing, that made him a real Journey band member. There is no other version.
There is no OLD Journey.
There is no NEW Journey.
What matters is that the "Music of Journey" continues to live.
Journey's comeback album, "Revelation", released in 2008 with Arnel as the new frontman and lead singer, despite the bashings, and hateful rants against him, Arnel just remained calm, and handled it with grace and humility.
But - deep inside, Arnel remains humble, and a real 'die-hard Steve Perry' fan himself.

@@sofiaumadhay5652 that’s a loaded statement! Right now, who really is the current drummer? Narada was named but hasn’t been performing with the band of late . Not sure why Deen came back and was part of a two-drummer set up, just as I am not certain why Jason Derlatka plays backup keyboards! I get the extensive touring and the vocal stress the songs themselves put on a voice has made it necessary to have strong supporting vocalists. It just seems odd to see such a large ensemble when Journey has always been a five man band until now. Then we throw in Randy Jackson who is recovering from back surgery...is he coming back?

Just a little advise to all Filipinos about to say I am proud to be Filipino because of Arnel stop with piggybacking on someone's success. Don't make us Filipinos look arrogant. This is such a bad trait that we Filipinos show the world. While living in NY, I was exposed to different cultures and it's only us Filipinos that are proud of another Filipinos success. I've never seen a Mexican or a Latin American for that matter say, I am proud of being a Mexican because of so and so. Admire the man's talent but don't say, I'm proud of being a Filipino because of Arnel. There are a lot of things to be proud of as a Filipino not because of Arnel but because we are hospitable, humble, and friendly. The arrogance shows arrogance and immaturity. It pisses people off! That's why Arnel get grief...

Charice and Arnel was a back to back sensation at that time. Same life background same destiny. Underrated singers who made it big outside our country. So when they did a duet singing Alone it was totally unbelievable.
In one of David Fosters concerts here in the Philippines Arnel was pulled out from the audience (during his vacation) and was asked to sing part of a Peter Cetera song turns out Peter was here too and came out at the stage the scene was so funny. Its in you tube check it out.

2008-2012 Arnel was 🔥. I saw his performances live in Hong Kong, he was in his 30's that time. He had more grit and depth in his voice. Then in 2007, when he joined journey he's already 40 way past his prime. Imagine if they discovered him earlier in his 20's like Steve.
2012 to 2016 his performances are not the same anymore (not at the same quality per night). Seems like he needed more rest between concerts.
2017 onwards, he started to change his tone. He is 50 yrs old in 2017 tho. His rich warm timbre will burn down his voice in just 5 songs if he went 100% all through the night. From warm tone to lightish, airy voice quality. In short, he's too old now. They might consider lowering the key on some songs.
Also 25-27 songs per night is too much. Even Steve Perry complained about their tours before. Neal doesn't know how to take care of his vocalists.
