    Clutch in, first gear, find the bite point, slow clutch release-slow gas acceleration, off clutch, accelerate, revs 2.5k clutch In, gas off, second gear, slow clutch-slow gas, repeat 👌🏻

    I wish I could have seen this video when I first started learning manual. The emphasis on finding the bite point and making it muscle memory is probably the most important about driving stick

    As a 26 year old, my first vehicle was stick, (S-10) and a few vehicles later a Wrangler. So glad I learned.

      I’m 15, My F150 is an automatic. I wish it was a manual but whatever. I do know how and have known how to drive a standard. The first vehicle I have driven with a standard was a 2003 RAM 2500 Cummins with 450,000 miles.

    5th or 6th gear is for cruising on the highway. If you want to pass a car on the freeway, shift into R, for the Race Gear.

    That's a great way to teach someone. I learned just by watching my dad drive his truck. Now I drive 13 speed trucks. So much better than an automatic.

    I just traded in my manual transmission car (2013 Mazda 3 SkyActiv) for a brand new 2021 F-150 Lariat. If I wasn't in Canada, I'd have reached out to Town and Country to order it because of all the quality videos you all put out!

    This was really good Mitch, glad that you have her drive it for a month just so she can get used to it. 👏👏👏👏 maybe that’s something you guys should offer to new customers when they come in, might change their perspective on a manual car.

    Nice Job‼️ Driving a manual transmission vehicle makes you more aware of your surroundings and gives you more control of the vehicle. It is a lot of fun as well. Hopefully it keeps the driver watching the road and not messing with their phone or mobile device while in motion. I believe it makes you a safer driver. Many car enthusiasts prefer a manual over an automatic for the “fun factor” of it.

    i learned in 1974 when i was 14 driving a neighbors Dodge 1/2 ton pick up with 3 on the tree, hauling hay, and had no flat ground to play on, smoked the clutch a few times, the good old days..

    As a 25 year old CDL driver. I'm surprised of the similarities of an 18 wheeler. I can drive this 10 spd flawless. I know how to drive a stick shift car as well (self taught); but man you fixed some kinks I had. I still like unsynchronized better though to float gears.

    That´s interesting. If you get your driving license here in Germany. You can chose between automatic and manual. But if you choose the automatic you are not aloud to drive manual in the traffic. Btw you are a good teacher Mitchel ;)

    Another thing that helps wife was before I even showed her what your sowing her in car is I showed her the mechanics of a transmission that was out of a car and the clutch how it works mechanical

      Good for you! And you should! Make sure you find a steep hill (sometimes high school's have driving ramps) and learn to *balance yourself* in a stop mode. 👍

    Don't be sorry you forget to use the clutch when you brake in the beginning. I've been using almost only manual transmission since I got my licence 30+ years ago, and I still forget that clutch when I have driven a car with an automatic transmission for some time.

    That’s a sneaky way to get to drive the mustang at work! 😂 “Mmmitchelllllll i cant drive stick can you teach me!?!” 😂 did better than my first time 😂. My dad “taught” me buy bringing my car home and saying here’s the keys It’s like riding your dirt bike except use your feet instead your hands. Then went into the garage and started drinking 😂 🤦‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ we had a long lane way to practice on. Started off in third a bunch of times 🤣

    Now try down shifting from 5th to 3rd without auto Rev matching.. Which I am sure that one has it because he never brought it up..

    #fordshouldbesued The 2021 F-150 customers should sued Ford because their 2021 F-150 starting to having rusting and corrosion parts. That isn’t right. Worse part is Ford isn’t helping those customers. That is how you lose customers.
