    Some say that for difficult arpeggios, he uses his "eleventh finger". Others say he once overdosed on LSD and became an accountant. All we know is, he's called Jack.

    Jack is cool! Less "Let's be serious" and more "Let's have fun!" is always welcome.

      Yes but only 16 user slots on the JX-03 sadly. Maybe Roland will fix that in a patch?

    The truth here is that all these new analog/digital analog synths from korg and Roland are cheaply made Chinese garbage that you spend 500 dollars on then realize you're getting what you pay for. Like the korg minilogue. It's a 500 dollar analog poly synth which means you get what you pay for. The envelopes pop every time you play a note which sounds like shit. Got it and played it once. If you are a purist and absolutely need that analog sound then save up over a thousand dollars and go high end with a moog or something, but you're only kidding your self if you spend 350-500 dollars on this cheap shit that's riding off of the golden age of Roland and korg. I'll say I like the ms-20 mini but I have wasted too much time with this cheap ass hardware and just dropping 200 bucks on logic x has allowed me to increase my productivity and do everything in one space instead of moving around to all these cheap ass units I have scattered around my room. Overall, software is the way to go in this age. You're kidding yourself if you think dropping another few hundred on yet another tiny synth you can't fit next to the others you own is going to give you that "vintage analog sound".

      dirty oliver See Marc Doty's videos for an understanding of the imaginary envelope click.
      Plenty of people doing great things with these synths. As with most things, effort and understanding yields rewards.

    • @dirtyoliver1180
      @dirtyoliver1180 Před 7 lety +1

      mgscheue I have a pretty good understanding of these synths and I've put in plenty of effort and have rewarded myself for years. I also have a good understanding of corporate marketing techniques and let me tell you, these boutiques are a joke. I pity the person who is going to drop 350 to get "that 909 sound" then an additional 350 to get "that 303 sound" 😂😂 oh and what about that classic Juno sound? Another few hundred. For what? A cheap Chinese plastic 2 range keyboard when you can easily get these sounds on most DAWs or vsts if you have an understanding of analog synthesis. I am not sure how that click is "imaginary" either. My Roland Juno-6 doesn't have a click I need to use the filters and attack envelope to substitute out. It's simple. It's a 500 Chinese made polyphonic synth which is hella cheap for an analog poly. I'm sure I'll keep my minilogue, but after years of buying these synths and recording with them, doing everything in my DAW is pretty nice and makes me more productive. And it's cheaper.

      I think most people have a good idea of what they're gonna be using a piece of gear for, and they all cater to one market or another. if anything it seems like you don't do enough research before spending your money

    • @dirtyoliver1180
      @dirtyoliver1180 Před 7 lety

      theycallmejpj yeah I clearly have no understanding of the gear i buy. Okay man. Well hey, have fun spending $350 dollars to get "that 909 sound" then another to get "that Juno sound". Then hey how about $500 for "that 808 sound". All on some shitty cheaply made small plastic unit that rides off of the golden age of Roland and markets to idiots who think spending hundreds of dollars will give them these "original sounds" when there exist many plugins integrated into daws that sample these sounds or emulate them and sound better because they're not limited to the shitty cheap hardware Roland shits out every season. And those boutiques are such a joke it's hilarious 😂

    • @theycallmejpj
      @theycallmejpj Před 7 lety

      what on earth are you talking about? I don't even play synths and christ knows I would never buy a computer. my comment is in reference to you saying you spent $500 on a minilogue without researching it properly, and then you only played it once, and continue to whine and whine about it on the internet. do your homework next time
