Love seeing these down to earth reviews of affordable cars from an SA local, it's a nice change of pace.
You say in the opening that it's rather tired, but compared to most of these I still see on the road, it seems pretty tidy.

He's back!! I believe that motor was the same one used in the Nissan 240sx, which was the US market version of the s13/14 Silvia/200sx...
A friend of mine had one of these, not the prettiest Japanese car, but comfortable...was passed throughout the family until it finally did the head gasket lol

Like any auto sr20 primera its probably thirsty

I had an Sr20 Serena van auto and it would use a 1/4 tank per 100km. Sr20 manual bluebird is a lot better

In Australia, All of them came with the same engine KA24DE. However, some of the JDM model had SR20DE and SR20DET engine.
