You know how this could've been a good song? If there was some actual progression. Have Brad Paisley just think the Confederate Flag is cool in the first verse. In the second verse, he'd read up on what slavery and the Civil War was like and start questioning if he should keep using the rebel flag. Have the guest rapper (whether it be LL Cool J or anyone else) tell him about his experiences with racism and how it relates to the Civil War. Finally, in the final verse and chorus, Brad Paisley is convinced to get rid of the Confederate Flag even if it pains him to do so.
Actually, the ironic thing is that Paisley is from West Virginia. That state used to just be part of Virginia, but broke away because those people owned very few slaves and didn't want to be saddled to the Confederacy. West Virginia was given statehood in 1863.

It's like a song that creators of south park would create to illustrate how US southern nationalists try to normalize their point of view.

That song was completely stupid. The white dude had easily refutable, racist talking points while the only thing the black guy said was fucking stereotypes. Also, black people cant be racist. I really wish people would understand the difference between systemic racism and prejudice but I can’t expect much from someone who actually enjoyed “I’m not Racist”.

@@kyrathedestroyer_ You're a fool if you genuinely believe that prejudice, whether being expressed by a white man or a black man, isn't racism. Just because a definition doesn't fit your agenda doesn't mean you bend it. If you're racist, you're racist. There's no defending prejudice.
