    Wow prices in Australia are WAY inflated compared to the US

    Great review I had a go at the range of a guys M18 in 308 & WOW for price point there should be an M18 in every safe in Australia the bolt was great a good trigger I did think with the hollow type stock you would notice the recoil but I never did
    I own 3 centerfires Lithgow 223 winchester 270 & sako 3006
    Now I’m going to add an M18
    For me it was so bloody comfortable to bring up to the shoulder & shoot light to carry cheers

    I've got a tikka t3 hunter in 223 absolutely beautiful gun, shoots amazing, feels amazing, looks amazing as the tikka's do. I Took a risk a while back and bought a mauser m18 30-06. It shoots amazing, is ergonomic and easy to carry and the bolt is light and smooth like a tikka. The mauser m18 are seriously such a good gun for the price. I'm looking to get another 1 in 243. I really do love them for the price point. Glad sum1 else see's that. My mates are still "tikka" all the way. I think that will change in the next while when more get their hands on them.

      Good stuff Mauser is definitely giving the Tikka's a run for their money. For the price and superior quality.

      yep 2nd hand for couple hundred bucks and a cheap scope as well, just get it blueprinted and trued to make sure she is shooting perfectly straight especially if your shooting long ranges above 800 yards for less than 1" moa with custom loads or factory ammo at 800 yards. :)

    Got the Howa Stainless in .308. Great rifle. Bro has the Mauser M18 in .308. We were supposed to go and scare some deer this year but COVID stopped us in our tracks. Hopefully we can get out there soon.

    I've just got my M18. Very glad to see it got top spot on this video. Makes me satisfied with my purchase. Mine came with a lockable Mauser hard case, lucky 13 10 round magazine, and ring bases for $1100.

    You've raised some good points. But the Weatherby vanguard is very heavy for a hunting rifle. To the point where I don't even really consider it a hunting rifle. But each to their own I guess.

    Thumbs up on your vid. For folks in the US, it seems like the prices he mentions are about 50% more than what you can expect to pay. Exchange rate maybe, or Australia taxes.

    • @mattrickard3716
      @mattrickard3716 Před 4 lety

      Exchange rate does us no favours over here, taxes and other government imposed bullshit have seen about a 14-20% increase in the price of guns since all of this Covid crap started. No joke. My local shop will be charging that much extra on any new stock they have to order in as of now pretty much.

    • @richarddixon7276

      It's even worse here in the UK , some items can be almost twice the price of the USA price - Blame taxes & duty & shipping and smaller markets etc, whatever it still sucks !

    All great but none of them come with scopes and thats the most important aspect, especially for ELR type shooting or comp shooting and not to mention the blue printing & Truing the action, barrel etc ,even with 2nd hand rifles get it trued up and blue printed so that everything is squared up and perfectly alignment is made, then shooting at 800 yards with factory ammo is so much better ie: scores will be at least 05 MOA compared to 1" MOA at 800 yards?

    For how much damage Remington have done to themselves there 783 range is no frills but 100% a straight shooter hands down will beat there 700 lower end models out the box I don't own a 783 any more I did a cheap 1000yrd build with one it hit steel shot after shot incredible for a firearm that had more burs on it than another firearm ive ever seen the worst blueing I've ever seen it nailed what ever Remington done they hit the nail on the head with accuracy
