If the weather is cold like -20 C the donnor car is bigger! Like a small car with lower amp a pickup with a higher amp! It Will but it can damage the electrical system! Be carefull!

I would have the donor running first as the start of the host car will be taxing with dead car already connected
With modern cars..forbidden... possibility to damage the computer!
If the donor car is revved up a bit the alternator will put out more Amps and give a bigger boost.
