Such a fun video. We will be in Costa Maya for the very first time in April 2025. When researching what to do in Costa Maya, I came across all these videos of Mahahaul Beach and all the different restaurants/beach clubs on the beach strip. It looks so unique and looks right up our alley. I noticed that Celebrity doesn’t have any excursions there so I discovered in these videos that you can either take a taxi or golf cart to Mahahaul. This will be our first time NOT purchasing a cruise ship shore excursion. May I ask you what time you boarded your golf cart, how much time did you spend at Mahahaul , what time you left Mahahaul, and what time you returned back to the port (and how much time you had before your cruise ship departed. We are really looking forward to Costa Maya. Mahahaul looks like such a fun and authentic experience.
Hi! We always get off the ship early to maximize our time. The walk from the ship to Red Shirt Mahahual Golf Carts does take a few minutes. It's a pretty large port area. I'd say we were to the rental place within 20 minutes of getting off the ship. The ride by taxi or golf cart is about 10-15 minutes, so you can be there in less than an hour if go straight there. There are plenty of places to park your cart, but definitely mark it somehow as there can be several there; ribbons, magnets, anything to distinguish it. We were able to spend plenty of time in Mahahual to enjoy some food, drink, and beach and a few local vendors and still be back to the port an hour or so before all aboard. That gave us time for a quick walk through the shops. We really recommend Mahahual, especially our two favorite restaurants. There are also packages you can purchase through Viator and TripAdvisor that will take care of getting you there and back. How much is the all inclusive at La Chilangaloense? Or can we just stop by and get tacos and a drink or two without all inclusive? We already have Red Shirt reserved and plan to go to Krazy Lobster, but now would be interested in stopping by La Chilangaloense for those awesome looking tacos.
We did the all inclusive there last year and it ran about $50 USD per person. Make sure you bring cash or a card that can be used in Mexico because they charge in pesos. And you definitely don't need the all inclusive. The prices are very reasonable to pay as you go. Be sure to say hi to our friend Mauricio at Krazy Lobster and Jackie at La Chilangaloense. Can you tell me, when disembarking-I am somewhat disabled-I cant walk long distances-I have degenerative discs. Does the cruise line offer a golf cart ride to the end of the pier?

In Mahahual, there are several restaurants with beach access. Two of our favorites are Krazy Lobster and La Chilangaloense. There is no charge to sit by the beach, but they do expect you to order food or drink.

There are no golf carts on the pier, but we did see the guys with bicycles with the carts. I believe they work for tips
