    I would love it if you could do a separate video on how to cut the back of the head so the hair hugs it. When you say you are cutting short to long, are you talking about the movements of your feather razor? I am just learning how to use the feather razor and I love it!

      When Justin talks about going short to long in the nape sections to keep the head hugging shape, he is referring to cutting the hair shorter at the occipital (top of the vertical section) and leaving it longer at the hairline. When you are cutting hair using vertical sections, if the hair is shorter at the bottom and longer at the top you will make the shape fuller. If you cut the section shorter at the top of the section and leave it longer and the bottom, it will make the shape flatter.

    Mr. Kamm- I just almost died when I googled your salon and realized you are located close enough for me to get my next cut from!
    In this video you addressed at LEAST 5 different techniques and effects I was not knowledgeable enough to ask for from my previous hairdressers who didn't utilize these techniques. Thank you for posting! I hope to work with you soon!!

    Gorgeous haircut! You make it look easy but, I am sure you are a seasoned professional hair stylist who has years of experience. One of the most beautiful cuts I've seen. Kudos to you Sir. 🙌👏👌👌👌❤

      Probably would be best for a professional to do a haircut like this on you. It would be very difficult to do this to your own hair. Show a professional a picture of the style you want and see if they can recreate it on you! Best of luck!

    Very cute haircut, I had mine cut similar to this & I loved it. For someone who has a more flat head in the back & doesn't round out as much, how would you recommend cutting that shortest area to help it appear more rounded ? ❤😊

    • @JataiFeather
      @JataiFeather  Před 27 dny

      Since everyone is different, it is best to modify the shape to best fit the hair texture and head shape. If the head shape is flatter in the back of the head, the best way to modify the shape to make it appear more rounded is to leave the crown longer and take the hair in the occipital area shorter, this will allow the longer lengths on top to build fullness and make the shape more round.

    I love it! If I follow this, step by step would I get the same results with thick coarse hair?

    • @JataiFeather
      @JataiFeather  Před 3 lety +4

      Yes, but the thicker the hair the more detailing and texturing may be required. If the hairline is "pokey" and sticks up, leave more length in the nape.

    Would I need to do anything diffrent if I wanted to recreate this on my wavy-curly hair?

    • @JataiFeather
      @JataiFeather  Před 2 lety +2

      The only thing you'd have to account for is what part of the wave you cut the length, if you cut on the concave part of the wave it will flip up, and if you cut the length on the convex part of the wave it will lay down. But the over shape would work beautifully on wavy hair.
