    I don't have a protruding stomach.
    I've always been a sports person and I think it's good to keep a good figure.
    All my life I've been a social worker besides my usual work.
    The first thing I'm interested in other people is a) whether they are happy b) their character.
    Regarding health when I visit hospitals I see people suffering from serious illnesses whether they have a paunch or not. So there is a lot more to keeping good health as you all know.
    My advice to seniors 1) mental health is very important. Reading books, keeping cheerful, virtues such as patience n kindness, being positive 2) healthy diet 3) I think most people's health problems result from lack of exercise. Seniors should exercise moderately and avoid antics that may cause accidents. Don't exercise when you are tired. If you feel discomfort while exercising stop immediately and rest wherever you are. 4) Sleep for about 12 hours. 5) fresh air and some sunlight 6) I don't want to talk about medications because no one listens to me. I haven't taken tablets etc for more than 30 years and am fine. I do use ointments for external parts of my body, gargle with saline water etc. (Read books on Nature Cure). Don't think about your age. Keep busy with hobbies and learn something new.

      Excellent advise aureo, I am 62, fairly physically fit, but have suffered from anxiety since I was nineteen, seems to get worst as you get older, Would value any advice on meditation or yoga or anything else

    • @aureofernandes8241
      @aureofernandes8241 Před 3 lety +2

      @@zafginai2041 difficult to advise people I don't know.
      If you keep physically fit it's good.
      No one In this world is perfect. So we have to accept our own short-comings. That's humility.
      1) Pride is considered to be the capital sin. There isn't anyone who isn't proud. A certain amount of pride isn't bad at all. But when pride is in excess, just I me myself and others don't count, etc then we'll be in trouble, people will dislike us and we'll be unhappy without realizing that we are at fault and not others.
      2) greed for money and wealth. I'm not talking about money but Greed. I don't want to boast but I've never been greedy for wealth and yet have always got all I needed and more.
      There's nothing wrong with being anxious or worried or careful or suspicious or seeing the dark side of things. If you were careless, not at all worried about this and that or thinking that everything's fine you'd have been dead long ago. Of course we shouldn't be paranoid. Accept things as they come, learn to cope with problems. Actually I laugh when things go wrong and even if someone insults me.
      I've had this habit. I've always been attracted to people who are happy and cheerful. Some years ago I had enrolled for some yoga classes. I discontinued after 3 sessions. My guide never seemed to be happy. I think he was only unconcerned about earning some money from his teachings, and he smiled only when he received his fees. Yoga is not just exercises but a philosophy and a way of life. I have my own way life.
      There is some supernatural being that helps and inspires us. Just be a good person and cheerful and everything will be ok.

      There are some people who like to control others often with a stern face.
      I've seen parents who have brought up children with excessive discipline. I haven't seen any of them grow up normally.
      I was privileged to have been brought up by parents who used the two tools of kindness and reasoning. I don't remember my parents ever scolding me. I've been happy and healthy all my life. Orphans and destitutes in particular need love and care and that can be achieved only by adults who are spiritually oriented.

    Can you please also say how many times, or minutes, one shall do each exercise?

  • @gmaneis
    @gmaneis Před 2 lety +1

    These are great exercises. Another thing to consider is food. Abs should be built in the kitchen, as well as the gym. When older people with larger ab areas stop eating double burgers topped with cheese and bacon, and when they stop eating thick slices of pizza topped with greasy meats, or those easy to find, foot long deli meat sandwiches, the results can be amazing. At age 75, I am a perfect example of what can happen. On October 10th, 2021, I weighed 212 pounds and had a 36 inch waist. I woke up that morning to find my wife placing onto our kitchen counter all our animal related food products. We went plant based and have not looked back. It is now April 2nd, and she has lost 13 pounds, while I have lost 35 pounds and can wear size 32 pants. I'm not saying a plant based diet is for everyone. I suppose the animal fat diet is too ingrained in most people for that to be possible. What I am saying is that if I also followed your excellent advise about ab exercises, I could make my ab area look like that of a 20-something gymnast. So thank you very much. I'll ad these exercises to my diet plan and see what happens. I think it's possible to do nothing about your diet while you increase the strength of your abs, but I also think if you do that, you'll end up with hard ab muscles covered up with the results of double cheese burgers and pizza. Just a little food for thought, so to speak.

    That rubber band looks like it would loosen back muscles that help to control breathing. The better those muscles work, the better those under the collar bones will. When these muscles get tight, it's a major cause of shortness of breath for me.
    Yes, I sit a lot, but keep the office chair lower than need be. That means it takes a little more effort to get up and to sit. It's an old office exercise taught me by old office personnel--who were then the age I am now :)
