Yes, Loved the all star race at North Wilkesboro. One of the only sports left but they are changing it too. Carburetors, lug nuts and road courses have taken away the smaller tracks. Its sad. If you ever have concerns about turning the rye grass in. What I have done is plant blackeye peas after harvest in late summer and let them grow up and just plow the plants in when they get to height. They are a legume and really help soil too.

I’ve had good luck with crimson clover as a cover crop the past two years. They say mow it when or before it blooms to keep it from using nitrogen that it has fixed into the soil.

Rye is really gonna get tall and thick, cow peas, turnips, radish, a little hairy vetch would stay low and i think your disc would cut it up pretty easy. The Cereal rye will get 5 foot by mid April and be very tough to disc. Rye grass even will get tall. The only reason i recommend against rye if your putting corn on it is the nitrogen consumption of rye. On a corn field i always use nitrogen fixation crops. Your sweet corn looks amazing i hope we continue to get rain like we are. Thanks for the video

Outstanding job Joey. I love those disks and would have loved to have had them listing tobacco rows. I've laid by tobacco when I leaned one way going and the other way coming. When the corn gets hold of that nitrogen, it will take off like a scalded dog. If you're going to use rye, cut it down or turn it under before it gets knee high. Daddy used to plant rye in years past and it will run away with you if you don't get rid of it early on. Daddy had some get too big once and one of his cousins bogged it with a 966 Farmall and an off set harrow that looked 20 feet wide and we still had rye straw. I use wheat and really like it. It doesn't get over knee high here and it will rot out good.
