- MEGHAN and Kate weren’t treated differently - in fact, the Duchess of Sussex was loved by the public and Royal Family alike, an expert has said.
Charles Rae, a legendary former royal correspondent for The Sun, believes that Prince Harry’s wife was “lauded” when she joined The Firm.
Rae spoke on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show about Megxit, recalling how public attitude towards her was fantastic in 2017 and 2018.
“When you saw Meghan with Harry when they were out and about, the crowds were 10 to 12 people deep,” he said.
“It was back to the good old days of royal walkabouts - it was fantastic.
“It only started to go wrong when we started to hear there were a few strops being thrown by Meghan.
“Did she make Catherine cry, did she make Charlotte cry?
“You’ve got to accept that any bride is going to be right up there, the nerves are going to be sharp - so, you’ve got to take that into account.
“But I think it all went wrong when they decided they were gonna up sticks and go.”

I think they WERE treated differently. Meghan Markle was treated far better and handled with kid gloves compared to Catherine. It took Catherine a lot of time to get some of the privileges that were given Meghan almost immediately.

The difference is one of sincerity. Catherine genuinely wanted to do her best and also respected and understood the role of the monarchy while meghan only saw a money making and status opportunity. Perhaps the royal family offered too much too soon. If more time had been given, they would have realized that both meghan and harry were planning to leave the royals well before they were married.

The video with Diana running to the boys was really unfair to Charles. If you watch the full version (which was not really aired, but you can find it) after he greeted the staff and let Diana have her moment with the boys, he went up and hugged them and kissed them too. There was a narrative in the press and it was very deceitful.
Charles was very affectionate and attentive to both William and Harry. Diana chose to give the impression that all members of the Royal Family were cold, uncaring and without emotion. If you observe Princess Anne’s children and grandchildren , just to begin with, they are all down to earth and beautifully adjusted and all the royals are not unlike other families. They have picnics, barbecues, outings exactly as do most people. The difference is that it was the norm to keep their family activities private. Things slowly evolved with Prince Phillip setting the lead to show the public how down to earth they all were with similar problems to us all.

She spends a lot of money in self promotion, but she won't work to makes money to pay for this. She really believes that she must be paid for exist.
And although she hates Catherine, she uses the Princess'image to sell goods, to show herself and to start business that she can't finish or go ahead. The last shamefull moviment was this site. There's nothing on and looks like it will take a lot of time, money and hard work to go ahead. What she is doing this week? She went to a hospital, with a camera, to show compassion, to sell her brand again in a complete different place.
Once again, she is showing that she can't finish what she starts and everybody knows what this means.

The difference between Princess Catherine and MM is as vast as the Atlantic ocean that keeps us separate from the US. They may speak like us and even act like us but will NEVER be like us.
This woman was NEVER going to work out. As an American I greatly admired the Queen and I was shocked that her grandson and his wife would publicly try to disgrace the monarchy. The Oprah interview and the bitter book Spare were shameful. My parents always taught that family was to be honored as the backbone of civilized society. I cannot respect either one for the pain they caused the royal family especially their elderly grandparents !

When you gets own children you often revaluate your parents behavior, it is then you understand from a parent point of view. We've seen the very true side of that woman.

I truly believe that MM had no idea how cheap the BRF can be and how it’s not really a glamorous lifestyle. It’s not all fancy galas and glittering jewels, it’s mostly grinding out public engagements, cutting ribbons and shaking hands. I can see why it wouldn’t appeal to someone raised in Hollywood. The thing is, if MM and PH had just announced they wanted to live a private life, moved to the US and stayed out of the limelight they would probably still be loved and respected. Instead, they clung to and monetized their royal titles for their income.
I believe Catherine learned very early on that being a Royal meant you work for the crown and can’t lay out because you don’t want to adult that day. . She went into the marriage with her eyes open. MM, IMO went in just wanting to play princess and be adored and loved and totally in charge. She didn’t want rules of etiquette or senior royal obligations to get in the way of her playing the princess. All she knew about her idol, Diana was that she was rich, famous and so very loved. I truly believe that’s what Meghan wanted and expected. But then reality hit and she wanted out. Claiming abuse, neglect and racism made her a “victim” and hoped she’d gain the compassion and support of the masses.

Quite simply, Megalier seemed to expect she was going to be Queen - or at least hugely more important than she actually was. She found out the facts, had a monumental tantrum and instead of shutting her mouth, learning and supporting the RF, she packed their bags and stormed off in a huff.
They were not treated differently. She was more demanding and got more attention.

I'm glad Charlie pointed out how affectionate Charles was to the boys. That photo he was talking about of Diana with her arms open wide etc, there is video footage that shows her greeting William and then Harry. By then, Charles has reached them and you see him hugging WIlliam, then Harry comes over and kicks WIlliam. You hear William going 'ow'.I think it shows that while the boys may have been close, Harry was always jealous.
I also agree with other posters that Meghan was treated better than Catherine. There is a story going around almost from the engagement that Harry told the Queen they would pull the race card if she said no to the engagement. Not only was Meghan invited to things as a financee that Catherine wasn't, Doria was too. They even managed to get Doria paid by the palace when she stopped work for a while to stay with them - when Meghan was pregnant?
