- We are STOKED to get the opportunity to test the new L.A.B. Golf DF3 putter! L.A.B. took the original "ugliest putter ever" and gave it a bit of a facelift. It is awesome to see companies staying true to their roots while also listening to the community. It may look better, but none of that matters if it doesn't perform on the course. That's why we sent Kyle to the local muni to run it through a few paces.

Really glad you’re liking it!
It’s… very addicting 😅
First time I have seen a review from you. What fantastic coverage ! Very in depth on the DF3 and company itself. I am moving forward with a purchase. Thanks and look forward to more reviews !^
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the review! The DF3 is amazing, hope you putt well with it ⛳️
I purchased a DF2.1 in November after stating that I would never putt with something that looked like that but after using it now for about 4 months don't know if I will ever switch. So easy to use and as long as I have the right line everything is good. Keep up the good work LAB golf
I may not need this... but I REALLY want it.
Great review!!! I also rock the 2.1 in pink. Amazing putters!! Never looked back!
Thanks! You have to try the DF3 if you enjoy using the 2.1. It's seriously amazing!
Great video, thanks for the review! I ordered mine a couple weeks back, can’t wait to start putting rounds in it.
What sight line/color did you go with?
@@LoggerheadGolfthey had some DF2.1 offerings at a local golf shop here in AZ and after testing them out, the 34” and 69 degree worked, so I just went with their stock offering of the DF3
@@mc-di4hx Awesome! Enjoy!
Great review. Order my DF3 4v ago. Can’t wait to game it.
🔥🔥🔥 the only negative about the lab putters is the production time. But can’t complain too much, their stuff is QUALITY
Hi just got it yesterday can't wait to get playing with it
Awesome!
Just bought one today! I went to buy the Mez Max but loved how this one felt and liked the ball pickup. The pistol grip was icing on the cake. Cant wait to play with it !
Let's go! What color/sight line?
I got the standard black, black steel shaft with white T line of sight.
Great vid
Appreciate it! 👊🏼⚡️
I have the Mezz Max--woW!! Unbelievable, putting made easy!
It does kind of feel like a cheat code sometimes
IMHO best putter ever made the DF3. You will make more putts period. As far as lie angle, I own the off the shelf standard in 69 degrees, 35”. I measured 71 degrees. Most amateurs will not notice a 2-3 degree difference.
I really liked it when I rolled it at Loggerhead Golf.
It definitely feels like an upgrade from the previous model
and just got pricier.
It won't be long, drivers and putter are going to price them selves out of the market. which is a great thing to be sure.
It's ridiculous already with $1k+ for each already.
firstly don't believe the hype.
secondly ,they want you to think is soo expensive, can't sell the lie that it's R&D pushing the price up, they are fewer hands on deck now days.
AI is doing all the work for a fraction of the time and money it took even 6 years ago. And carbon fiber process is also not skyrocketing prices, it's become very efficient.
It's latest improvement is "you can pick the ball up on gimmies" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a great improvement, such a balanced review LOL
I mean, it’s a pretty neat putter
Looks so much better. I already have the Mezz.Max (same color and pistol grip as on screen here), else I would probably buy one. I can forgive them from stealing the ball collector idea from the Ping Sigma Fetch putter I used to own before my LAB.
Love the pistol grip. Ha you're right, they may have borrowed that idea but we aren't complaining
But can it get the ball from the cup?
@@jeffalbrecht4560 That would be amazing haha
They have over 30 alignment options and I think more than 3 colors. Great review.
8 colors in total and they did add a lot more alignments after this was filmed. Thanks so much for watching 🙏💪
Yep! Really excited that they went ahead and offered it in all 8 color ways. And the whole arsenal of alignment aids is amazing an amazing surprise! Thanks for the comment 👊🏼⚡️
is feel the same?@@kyletomberlin5497
@@giomusah2155feel is a little more solid the Mezz is
Not as loud off the face . Of course, it could just be the acoustics giving that sensation cause sound is feel. But I loved it
The sound of the DF2.1 face contact was a high pitch “ting” and felt hard. The Mezz Max felt much softer and was def much quieter. How does the sound and feel of the DF3 compare to both of those?
The DF3 is a good bit smaller than the DF2.1 so LAB was able to dull the sound down a bit. It's a good middle ground of pitch between the MEZZ Max and the DF2.1. The face is also a great middle ground. LAB really seemed to listen to their consumers complaints about the "soft" feel of the MEZZ and the "tingy" sound of the 2.1 and give us something right in the middle.
Let us know what you think about the new DF3!
I had the opportunity to hit the new DF3 at the local PGA Superstore today. I was really surprised by the feedback from such a large headed putter. The ball just seemed to jump off the face. I also love the look of the Mezz Max but I hate that fat/tilted/forward press grip that takes away the head weight and the feel of the putter.
@@erinpackard9768 The feedback is a nice little upgrade from the DF 2.1
Do you know if the counter balance grip is also a press grip or if it’s a standard grip ?
The grip that comes with this option is the Super Stroke XL Counterbalance. It is not a press grip.
I'd argue a lab putter not fit to your lie angle would be counter productive. How can lie angle balance help you if your swing a putter fit to a different lie angle? I could very well be wrong but it seems logical. Great vid
Yup, that's why they need to be fitted on you.
It really isn’t that deep, most putters come stock at 68-70ish. The big sell for the LAB is the actual build relative to the shaft placement. The shaft is set back from the face in conjunction with the design of the head so when assembled, everything is perfectly balanced. You could spin the putter in your fingers and it’ll freely spin as to not favor the face or the toe or anything. Hence no torque. So when you’re making a stroke, the face will stay on the line you started on, no twisting, less pulling and pushing giving you a better chance of making the put. It really works. I have 2 of them. Never looked back.
@@slave0102 I too have two. But I'd never drop that kind of money on one off the sheriff unless I was fit to the standard specs
Which do you prefer? The DF3 or the Mezz Max?
Kyle actually has gamed the Mezz and he putts extremely well with it. That being said, the DF3 almost feels easier to line up and strike more constantly. If you can get over the large size it’s worth trying the DF3!
@@LoggerheadGolfthanks for the feedback!
You should try setting the ball up closer to your left toe, more like a driver. LAB putters shold have the center of the shaft in center of your stroke, not the ball.
The difference between 69° and 68° is like 0,8” on 20feet putts
dude, LAB golfers don’t putt with thumbs on top of the grip
Yeah, pity reviewers don't point that out more often, I've only seen Max Hahn himself explaining that point. For me it was the most difficult part to get used to: Trusting the clubhead to swing itself. Really scary after years of subconsciously manipulating various high MOI putters.
the owner of LAB talks about it
That’s a drill to get used to taking your hands out of the stroke. You don’t have to keep thumbs off, just a Way to keep you from manipulating the head.
