"... breakneck car chases, stunt tumbles ... SWAT gunfire [plus] a gold mine of one-liners" - The Washington Post
This is the city ... and only Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks can save it in this hilarious box-office blockbuster that pays homage to the famed original police dramas of the '50s and '60s.
Aykroyd is at his comedic best as the namesake nephew of Detective Sgt. Joe Friday. Like his uncle, he's a blue-suited, by-the-rules cop who reluctantly joins forces with his footloose partner Pep Streebek (Hanks) to rescue the City of Angels from the machinations of a power-mad Reverend and corrupt Police Commissioners. And those are "just the facts" of this hysterically funny action-comedy!

"LOOK OUT, MUPPETS!" I always loved that line!
I think I also saw some Care Bears, Wuzzles and a Mickey Mouse in there, too. Glad my little sister didn't notice!
Always laughed my ass off when he literally threw the book out the window.
We used to have this on VHS and watched it all the time! My favorite line, "Look out, Muppets!!"
1:21 - If my eyes don't deceive me, there was a little post-it back to "GhostBusters", Dan's biggest film of the 80's. Did anyone else see a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man go flying?
Love this film. It has it's tongue firmly in it's cheek, but respects the original series. Plus, it has amazing music, Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks on top form (not to mention Christopher Plummer and Dabney Coleman), and it's wonderful that Henry Morgan is back as well.
That girl did one hell of a backflip when the car arrived
Lookout, Muppets!!!
Where's Animal when you need him?
I wish Tom Hanks stuck with comedy he did it so well. Nothing against his drama performances though.
He’s great at both
Watching this movie now! Tom Hanks made this movie sooo damn funny.😂😂
The teddy bear stuck to the car is funny. They should've shown a close up of the bear for like 2 seconds while the chase was in motion
I wished you included the scene where Muzz ran over Friday's feet. That was my favorite.
OMG I loved that movie when I was 12.
Did that lady seriously do a backflip off the lifeguard tower??? 🤣
LOL I've seen this movie about 1,000 times since 1987 and I have never noticed that. Well done.
@@SirHatchporch I just noticed it the first time I watched this clip. Well, plenty of fitness maniacs on L.A.'s beaches, even back then.
I loved the end drive Scene with Friday and the crazy police car chase. So Iconic Blues Brothers reference . So cool Dan Ackroyd did that. Especially bthe wrong way drive Scene.
"Reckless endangerment of human life. Willful disregard of private property. Failure to signal for a safe lane change."
Yeah, he's really racking up the violations, isn't he?"
"Not him, YOU! This is your one-way ticket back to civilization life, mister. I like to throw the book out the window."
"That's a good idea."
Back to CIVILIAN life.
Civilization!? P>)
LOOK OUT, MUPPETS
Look out muppets 🤣🤣🤣
Look out muppets🤣🤣🤣🤣
Friday-
this is your one-way ticket back to civilian life, Mr id-like-to-throw-the-book-out-the-window!
Strebac- that's a good idea!(throws notepad out the window)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What ford car is that they’re driving
Escort
Streebeck is so irresponsible.
Please! That dock area was too crowded already! More cars could've meant someone getting hit. If anything, he should've told Friday to call for AIR support!
You mean Detective Swayback?
@@lemonhead162 No. It's Streebeck.
There's a ridiculously funny review of this dumb movie on the FART PARTY youtube channel
