CLIP DESCRIPTION:
When he walks in on Vince (Danny DeVito) getting beat up by a thug, Julius (Arnold Schwarzenegger) teaches the thug a lesson he won't soon forget.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The central "gimmick" of the comedy-adventure Twins is established early on. Unbeknownst to one another, king-sized Arnold Schwarzenegger and gnomeish Danny De Vito are twin brothers. Even better: Schwarzenegger is a mild-mannered, bookish type, while De Vito is a vitriolic troublemaker. The film takes satiric jabs at the notion of "perfect" genetics, and makes several pointed comments concerning the dangers of youthful pre-conditioning by insensitive parents.

It's funny, Julius didn't understand the slang "money talks and bullshit walks", but he automatically understood Vince's sarcasm when saying "well obviously, the moment I sat down, I thought I was looking into a mirror".
Arnold and Danny made more off this movie than any other they did. They took a massive percentage of the box office as their payment and as a result, studios became extremely protective of that option.
I've heard that's how Schwarzenegger gets paid for most of his movies.
@@knytrydr73 Arnold said that since then this studio refuses to make the same deal with anyone including him. I'm sure other studios do it though.
Yeah they really cleaned up. They gave Arny and Danny 20% each of the Box office returns. The movie made like 216 million, lol. They each took home 42.3 million, which in today's money would be like 91.5 million. That's why now studios almost NEVER give up percentage points, and if they do its like 5% maximum.

Whats crazy is in Arnolds day to be a bodybuilder you actually had to be big and strong. He could curl 275lbs, so he could have literally lifted that guy and throw him.

I love this movie! 1988 was such a great year for me. Times were so good back then. I miss all of the 80's. I just wish I could have been a little older so I could have experienced even more than I did. Anyway, good times :-)

Seen this movie a million times and I always find something funny about it that I never noticed before. Tonight: DeVito at 1:03 is hilarious. "Oh, you negotiate FIRST and then you attack? Nahhaaa!" He was moments away from a beatdown and seconds later he's the cockiest SOB. Gotta love it.

This film was the first movie that I watched with Arnie and Danny, my grandfather owned a VHS tape of this movie and I will never forget the first time watching it with him. Thank u grandpa and I will miss u❤

I just love how good the acting was. DeVito when he gets picked up, he's in pain but also he grunts in disgust. His face is saying "not again!", indicating that he's been there before many times.

There was a period when Arnie would like to give up being an action hero and became a funny guy: Twins, Junior, Kindergarten Cop, Jingle All the Way, Last Action Hero...
He wanted to be recognized as a complete actor not just an action movie star, and he did a great job
I was predisposed to love this movie. I already loved Danny DeVito from his work on Taxi and Arnold was the nerd I wanted to be in a giant, capable body.
I never figured out how they made Arnold and Danny look so much alike for this movie.
I have no respect for those who have no respect for logic, but you gotta give props to the actor who played the thug. He looked and sounded like he was legitimately in pain. His performance was top-notch.

Being a twin myself, I enjoyed the movie "Twins" (1988). Hard to believe that it's already been thirty years since it's been released. Let's hope that the sequel "Triplets" finally gets made before Arnold, Danny, and especially Eddie Murphy lose interest and the project gets scrapped.

Arnold was to damn good in this movie. Look at how acting in 1969 in Hercules in new New York, then this 18 years later. He’s crazy how natural his acting became.
