      Win. That much range is perfectly acceptable for the vast majority of use cases. Okay, bitter cold day towing something big into a strong headwind uphill all the way for hundreds of miles, there are trucks one would rather have. Add in superior charging network, and probably the Cybertruck gets you there about as fast as the Rivian on a long road trip and faster than the Ford.

The 35-minute drive was 7 minutes shorter than predicted because when people saw it in their mirrors, they parted ways to slow down and take pictures. It was like riding in an ambulance the way everyone moved over. So many cars with peoples faces are in wonder and surprise. People asked if it was a movie car. It was amusing, to say the least. My takeaway was, even though I am pretty aware of what tesla is doing, it surprises me how many people are truly unaware, as this one short commute to dinner and back demonstrated. Edmunds first published this as hit piece saying the Cybertruck failed to meet range targets (despite that supposed miss being ~1%).
    Twitter folks had to jump on Edmunds to make them acknowledge their false report by showing that they ran on All Terrain wheels, which have a lesser range of 318 miles and not 340 miles due to the higher rolling resistance.
    Edmunds clearly has an anti Tesla bias, and it takes a Twitter community notes slap on the face to keep them honest.

    still, when comparing it to the competition, it is not significantly more efficient, which has always been a Tesla big plus, and the battery is under sized. As far as I am concerned, it is a disappointment

    At a stated 40mph avg speed for the test. Not too surprised. But that's not the range that folks want to know or are worried about. Its the highway. Get back to us after an all highway test with a 65-70+mph avg speed. It won't be looking near as good.

    • @thewolfdoctor761
      @thewolfdoctor761 Před 3 měsíci +3

      You won't get 318 miles at 70 mph. Everybody knows that.

      @syspowertools3372 Před 3 měsíci +4

      You wont get 45mpg in a prius at 70mph. Edmonds test is just like the EPA. Combined city and highway. As for people pretending 4 1/2 hours of driving is not long enough and 15 minutes is too long to charge, I can only assume they dont have kids and are severely dehydrated.

    If you know you know. Would you do the same test with a gas powered vehicle? The CONSTANT "range anxiety" video barrage is total nonsense. Whether the video indicates a perfect range rating or not is irrelevant in my opinion because on a daily basis for the majority of drivers it's not something you think about. I own a 2020 Model Y I'm approaching 60k miles and I can tell you I've experienced range anxiety 0 times. You charge your vehicle at home overnight, you wake up and you go to work, you run your errands, you go wherever you want and you plug it in at the end of the day. IF you road trip or drive an unusually large number of miles on a particular day you utilize the supercharger network, they are everywhere and operate 24 hours a day. Perhaps the charging infrastructure for other brands would leave you high and dry, but in my opinion this battery range test/talk is beating a dead horse, just buy the damn Tesla and never look back!

    unfortunately looks early 8-Bit Nintendo, or like one of those crazy (uncollectible) Hot Wheels "fantasy" cars targeted at kids 3-5 years of age. oh yeah, how did Tesla NOT discover in all it's testing (ref: 4 years of waiting and development) that those covers would dig into the sidewalls and possibly blow the tires...? that's just as bad as the Ultium software glitching out on the Blazer EV. i mean isn't anybody paying attention...? the Engineer overseeing development of Suspension/Wheel, and Tire had ONE JOB...!!!
